if you go with 100g only, i would strongly suggest sample sizes too. i pretty much won’t buy 100g of any tea i’ve never tasted, and i don’t think i’m alone there. it’s prohibited me from ordering from a lot of really nice shops like, IIRC, red blossom and todd and holland and all that.

barring that, i’d suggest something like what taiwan tea crafts does, offering a 28g size along with whatever bigger one you choose. that’s about the limit size-wise of what i’d order blind.

I’m another saying cheap small samples and then starting with a 25g size with a larger option for those who want to be more daring or who have decided to buy more.

I generally go with 50 grams/2 ounces for most teas, but 100 grams/4 ounces for teas that I’ve tried and I know they’re one of my core favorites. I can’t imagine buying 100 ounces of tea if I hadn’t tried it before. If a company has smaller sample sizes (or even samplers), I’m more likely to try a number of their teas and the chances of finding one I really like is higher.
