EnjoyingTea yixing tea pot sale. $7!

$7 for a yixing tea pot?! Their shipping prices are fairly reasonable too.

Just throwing this out there for anyone looking for a cheap yixing tea pot!

Oh man. I wonder how long the sale goes because that looks really tempting. But I don’t get paid until the end of the week. x.x;
Then again, I don’t really have an unflavored tea that I drink over and over yet that I could use in a yixing. So maybe I’ll pass. XD

I bought 2 recently. They’re really good. You can do internet search for coupons and get additional 15% off as well.

I’ve bought most of the teas on the site as well. Hit or miss really, but have never been overly disappointed. I’m surprised there’s not much more love for EnjoyingTea on Steepster. They have a lot of “famous” teas for pretty reasonable prices. I find their Oolongs pretty solid. Greens are kind of hit or miss, and most of their black teas are above average. They have a cream Earl Grey white tea that I’m in love with at a great price.

I just put in an order with TeaVivre because everyone raves about it. So this will be my first chance to compare my base line (Enjoying Tea) with what is supposed to be good (according to those on this site). I’m really curious to see if paying double or even triple for some of the same teas shows up in taste. If so, I don’t mind paying the extra money, but I don’t want to spend more just because there’s a perception that it should be better.

Well, there is much less “high variety” at Enjoying Tea. They have a broader range of offerings but fewer specific grades and usually only one kind for each major type of tea. There are jasmine pearls, but only one kind. Same for Sencha, Keemun, etc…

very true. agree with it all.

Now that I’ve tried a few different companies I’ll say bang for buck, Enjoying Tea is up there. It’s definitely a good place to get your feet wet until you find what you like.

Then it’s probably worth it to experiment with some of the more well known, well respected names. For a few bucks more to a lot of bucks more, you can definitely up your tea experience.

But honestly, they’ve got some good stuff especially at that price. I wonder how they get their prices in that range.

I am thinking about buying these pots. Why are they so inexpensive? The price is so low that it makes me suspicious. Could they contain lead or some other contaminants?

Jeez, I hope not. I literally bought like 8 of them. About 3 of them I’m using, the others I’m saving to give as gifts. They are simply awesome and come in this amazing packaging. If I received this as a gift I would think someone spent at least $30-50 on it.

I think clearly they are machine made, whereas most Yixing would be hand made. And I don’t think it’s real yixing clay, but what do I know.

Assuming they’re safe since they’re selling in US, but you make we wonder. Maybe worth it to write the company to see what certification there is, if any?

I have bought tea and Yixing teaware from EnjoyingTea. Their pots are indeed molded, you won’t find handmade at these prices. The only mishap I’ve had with one of their pots was a ginkgo pot with appliqués of ginkgo leaves, the appliqués developed cracks during seasoning. I just took it as a lesson learned to get pots with carved in or painted designs rather than appliqués. Otherwise, I have a plum blossom pot and a covered bamboo mug, and also the cast iron Warrior kettle. Overall, the tea ware prices are a good reference point for me, I have seen the same kettles and Yixing on other sites for like 4x the price. If I like a piece someplace else I check EnjoyingTea to see if the prices are lower.

As for teas, most recently I bought my son their ginseng green oolong, very good. Also they have 1 pound quantities of organic rooibos if you want to make your own blends at home.

They’re pretty big for yixing pots but I got one anyway. They come in this really fancy box and they include a random tea sample as well :)

I love my yixing teapot from Enjoying Tea. It is so much nicer than I expected. The handle stays cool and mine pours well. I prepare 10 oz at a time which is perfect for me.

I have to also say the two teas that came with the pots I bought were also much better quality than I expected. I have two black teas and they are definitely not CTC. In fact my leaf pieces were larger than Twinings black loose leaf.

CTC?

Crush, Tear, Curl as in tea bag leaf or even some loose leaf. India and Africa black teas are commonly CTC.

Agreed they are pretty decent pieces for the price. I use the covered Yixing mug for grandpa brewing shou fannings. The couple of pots were starter ware for me, I have since purchased a few more expensive pots elsewhere once I realized puerh was going to be a major interest for me. The only not great tea I have had from them was a free box of really fishy shou tea bags, but a few rinses and they were drinkable. They tend to send tea bags for samples, and I started putting a note on orders asking “no tea bags please” only because I just don’t need any more tea bags in general.

The Yixing pot sale has been going on awhile now, end of April I think.

So I wanted to get the oolong sampler because even though I’ve really enjoyed all the oolongs I’ve tried, they’ve all been flavored and I want to try straight and also figure out what kind of oolong I want. But it appears that the sampler is sold out, and since the the individual once only come in 4 oz and up I feel I should only get one. So which one should I try?

Like some of the reviews say, their “slimming” teas have herbs that may interact with antidepressants or other psych meds, just be careful of those.

Imperial Ti Kwan Yin and Hairy Crab are very good. Those were my first introductions to Oolong and now I’m hooked. I am an Oolong fiend : )

Wuyi Rock and Big Red Robe are acquired taste, more of a smoky, deeper flavor.
