Once again, DavidsTea customer service is amazing. BEWARE THE COLOR CHANGING WHALES MUG

Once I went into a Davids store, and my boyfriend was sick. He couldn’t really smell any tea, while I was picking out samples. Anywho, the man behind the counter gave my boyfriend a complimentary cup of cold 911! My boyfriend and I loved the staff there so much, even though we live 5 hours away from a Davids tea, we make sure to stop whenever we visit because they’re awesome. It’s the little things that count :)

just on the topic of the AMAZING customer service at DAVIDs. I don’t have a DAVIDs anywhere near me, yet they are my favorite tea company by far and I love to treat myself to a perfect mug when new ones come out. With my recent mug purchase I emailed customer service requesting specific samples, not even expecting a reply. I received a reply that they would try their best but couldn’t guarantee it. I got my order today and the samples that I had asked for were in the envelope :) Above and beyond, I’ll continue to drink and order from DAVIDs even if I never get to visit one.

The girl who works at a davids near my house always chats with me after I buy tea. She told me once that I “rock her socks.” I think I want to marry her.

I am new to this site, and found out about it by searching for info on Davidstea, as this same thing happened to me! I was so disappointed…I really love my mug. I emailed them on Friday, and as of tonight (Monday evening), have yet to hear anything :(

I found it better to just call them. They take care of things really fast.

Colour changing stuff just doesn’t seem to last for anyone. My Mum’s disappearing/reappearing TARDIS mug went wonky within a few months of use. Heat seems to be hard on it. Funny how she likes her coffee hot. :)

I’m the OP and I do have to say, the customer service at DavidsTea has gone to pot. I have fallen prey to a few more color changing mugs (damn you, hedgehogs and cats!) but I am EXTREMELY careful with them. Never in the dishwasher, I never touch the outsides with anything other than a damp, soft cloth and I dry it immediately. I try to wash the mug as soon as I’m done my tea, but if I forget, you can easily soak away the insides by filling it with water and letting it sit, but never, ever let it soak in a sink of water.

That all being said, the last few times I’ve dealt with DT customer service have been extremely disappointing. Days without any kind of reply, brushing off any complaints, no actual help. Compared to what it used to be, it’s really sad. Combined with their ever-rising prices, I usually get suckered into their teaware (I can’t resist the cute!) but otherwise I tend to buy tea from them only when trying to round out an order of teaware (because I cannot stand going in to my local store anymore, so I only order online).

I’m a sucker for their Halloween color changing mugs. My one from two years ago looks awful. It was put in the dishwasher one forgetful time and the decals broke off. My mug from this year is showing signs of the decal peeling even tho I baby it. The decals on the lid came off almost immediately and that part wasn’t color changing.

My halloween mug with the big moon on it has chips in the orange moon, but the heat changing decals are still fine. It’s really weird. I totally baby it to preserve the print, as well.

They say it costs six times the amount to get a customer back. Smart companies know to keep their customers happy. But likewise are smart to not fall for the tricks of people who try to get free things when they act like jerks….
