TAL: Tea ALong

I know there are tea swaps that happen pretty regularly here, and I’ve also heard of the traveling tea boxes, which sound fun. But has anyone done a Tea ALong (kind of like a Knit ALong or Crochet ALong – KAL or CAL, if you travel in those circles)?

Do Steepsters ever share samples of the same tea amongst a small group of themselves, so everyone can taste and make very detailed notes to review with each other? Or answer a set of questions to really dig into the layers of a specific tea for the purposes of expanding their palates?

I love reading the reviews here, but I often wonder what kind of water people used to brew (tap, bottled, etc), and what specific brewing equipment they used, and what DOES a lotus taste like, anyway? Right now, I could taste a billion teas, but I wouldn’t know if I was picking up hints of lotus or hints of durian!
