How about we mail some of our teas to you MzPriss, follow us back and send us your address. Also let us know which teas :)
OK I’m following you and will send my address shortly. Box people what would y’all like to see from SOT in addition to the Jun Chiyabari that Tea Sipper has already mentioned? I think the green one for sure. I think the Vietnam OP1 looks nice as well, but box people what do y’all think?
Personally I’d love to try the Jun Chiyabari and Vietnam OP1; they sound more suited to my tastes. The Coonoor Nilgiri and Idulgashinna look interesting as well. I’ll wait for more feedback. (:
By tomorrow, please post here for sure if you want to participate and if you would like any different choices for the Single Origin Teas. I hope to finalize the list by Friday and as soon as I receive the teas from SOT, I will put the box together and send it out.
I’d like to try their African teas, the Pai Mu Tan from Malawi for instance because I’ve mostly tried teas from Kenya and Rwanda. I am, too, interested in the Vietnam OP1. EDITED Whoops – I’m in!
I guess I should specify that I’m still interested in participating in this box. I like flavored teas, but I also really like unflavored teas a lot, and most of the traveling tea boxes out there seem to be dominated by flavored teas.
I’m still interested! As far as other teas to try, I’ve been eyeing the Yunnan Imperial and Mokalbari Assam. I have a heavy preference for black teas though. White Monkey and the Dragon Well also sound very appealing.
I’d be interested if there’s still room to add me? I’m in Illinois.
This seems like an excellent opportunity to expand out of my preferred flavored teas.
I apologize too for having dropped out. Perhaps if there’s one down the road that has a few Canadians in it…
The teas are getting sent out at the end of today to MzPriss, we’re seeing how many we can fit into the mailing packet! We are also just going to do 1oz size so as to not monopolize the box.
Last thing to mention; that as these are free samples we’d ask that none of our teas be resold. (Don’t really see this likely happening in a TTB, but just want to be safe)
thank you for doing this, Single Origin! I was planning an eventual order, and if I can try a couple from the teabox, it will definitely give me a better idea on what to order.

What size box were you planning on using for the shipping? Or maybe an estimated weight to figure what shipping might cost? I have a set budget I have to keep to so my ‘free’ money is rather limited lately.
I think it depends on what comes from SOT. I was thinking possibly the size of a medium priority flate rate box. It doesn’t have to be the flat rate box if it can ship cheaper than that. I was planning on adding quite a few things but most of them are not really large amounts – probably 4-ish servings on average.
What do y’all think?
Sounds good to me. I just looked through my cupboard and I have almost 20 different teas that I would like to throw in, with amounts ranging from 2-6 servings each.

Hi y’all. The SOT package got here today. I will need a couple of days to get the box together and mailed. Since I don’t know what hell my job has in store yet, I’m going to shoot for getting it in the mail Saturday and will try to do sooner, but Saturday for sure.
As soon as it is packed, I will take to the PO and weigh so I know what the shipping difference would be between priority and first class and I will post that here before I ship, unless its really really cheaper to do one or the other – in which case I will choose the much cheaper and send it on.
SOT sent a bunch of tea, which I will list tomorrow. And it looks GOOD! I forsee nice things for this box.
