Ants and Tea?

I can’t answer the Chamomile tea question but I can tell you how to get rid of ants! You need boric acid! This stuff
https://www.amazon.com/Boric-Acid-Roach-Ant-Killer/dp/B00LLLM06Y/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1521285158&sr=8-7&keywords=borax+for+ants

Boric acid is nontoxic to kids and pets.
First…plug and holes or gaps in your home where ants may enter. Usually this is at the foundation, gaps along pipes and wiring etc.

The boric acid comes in a soft container. Squeeze out a thin line along baseboards, counters and anywhere else the ants will track through. The ants will walk through it and they love the sweet taste. Many ants will die on the spot but many more will carry the stuff back to the nest where other ants will consume it.

This is a long, slow, process. It can take weeks, or months to kill all the ants. Sweep up the dead ants every day and reapply the boric acid. Just keep reapplying the boric acid until the ants are gone.

Yes it’s a slow and messy job. But it works and is safe for you and your loved children and critters.

I live in Bangkok, where ants really seem to thrive, but they don’t seem attracted to tea. I lived in Hawaii before here and I was shocked there were so many ants and pests in general, but it seems that’s just how things go in the tropics. Once you see streams of them around it’s time for counter-measures. Small lizards living in the house help out with all that.

I have my tea exposed with some food droppings around my table all the time. But ZERO ants. And my table has a partition next to it. Embedded inside the partition was discovered a large ant nests. And the ants infested my colleague’s area, but not mine. The likely reason is because the ANTs is repelled by the tea.

At home I have used coffee powder for repelling insects like ants, and even lizards too, when you put that in your kitchen basin area. I have never seen the lizard again.

Ants like sweet foods like fruit tea, candy, etc.
So this type of food should be sealed and preserved.
