It’s too bad they only sell the discount tea in 250g quantities. I know they have to make it cost-effective but for someone like me who rarely purchases more than 50g of tea at a time it’s impractical (and expensive).

I got the super-cute Noble Cups (http://www.davidstea.com/noble-cups-four-colour-set?&TF=27F5948F6518&DEID=). I thought about adding some tea but I don’t want to buy it when the minimum is almost two ounces… :(

Cameron, in the web specials section, they have a selection of different teas in cute little tins for only $5 discounted at 20%. That’s only $4 for tea plus a tin you get to maybe reuse after. Just trying to enable here ;-)

The cups you got are super cute and so cheap!

I know! They were like $8.70 with the 40% off. :D And I kind of needed mugs. (I’ve been using the ones my boyfriend already had when I moved here… >>)

My problem is I have NO ROOM for more mugs, but I love the look of the noble ones. I could always stack them on top of each other…

Wow… I wish I could buy less than 8.8 ounces of Sleigh Ride o_o Crazy business practice there. I won’t buy 8.8 ounces of a tea I’ve never tried and even the one I liked that’s a lot of tea… Where’s the 2 ounce options? or 4 even?

They do it that way because it’s stock they’re getting rid of. They have other options for the regular priced tea

But I bet they could be sold out by now at 50 or even 100g.

Like Mandy said, it’s old stock. That was a Christmas tea that they only carry for that season, so whatever was left is sold in bulk for cheap. In store you can get any quantity of every tea, and online you can buy all currently stocked teas in 50 gram increments. Davids is essentially Canada’s version of Adagio, only without all the social interaction though they are building on that.

@Marzipan – They will sell out no matter what. They rarely have sales but when they do it tends to be on a larger volume, probably to save on packaging and shipping, etc. Santa’s Secret was sold out in a few hours, unless they found more.

Sorry to resurrect this topic, but I was wondering if anyone knew the chances of having specific mugs restocked? I was thinking in particular of the tentacle mug that was 40% off last week. I ordered one on Thursday, and it seemed to go through (it was charged to my card). Cue to this afternoon, when I got a call from David’s telling me that they had oversold the mug and couldn’t include it in the shipment. Total bummer. They offered to substitute, but honestly, that mug was half the reason I placed an order at all. I noticed that they have a transparent version now, and as cute as it is, I preferred the original. Can I expect it to make a comeback?

Generally not. Sometimes teas might make another appearance, but right now the mug is only remaining in some stores, and the sale is online only. I was told that they consider the stores and online shop almost as separate businesses…

Aw, okay. I kind of figured it was a longshot, but I was hoping anyway. Thanks for letting me know. The closest David’s is about three hundred miles away from me, so I guess I’ll just have to pine.

_ How did I miss this thread the first time? Thanks Beohthraefn for the bump! I was watching that tentacle mug, but the starfish one is pretty too!
