Where's a good place to go for tea samples?

I’ve tried Golden Moon, Den’s Tea, DavidsTea, and now I want a good sized sampler. Or a place online to be able to purchase sample sizes. I hate buying 2 oz of tea, and later realize the tea isn’t what I want, and I am throwing money away.

I am open to all flavor and color of teas.

I’ve just discovered Adagio. They sell little samples for $2, which makes between 5 and 10 cups per sample.

I agree, Adiago has been my go-to place for tea.

I got really bored and compiled a monster sized list of companies that sell sample sizes and how much they usually cost, what kind of things they sell, and how big the samples are.

I recommend Upton Tea, Tealux, and also Adagio because of the sheer volume of teas to select from :)

Amanda, that’s a great list—thank you!

Seconding that that’s some list. Thank you for making it!

Yay! I am glad you guys enjoy it :) I had fun researching it…and making a really large wishlist of teas :P

That is an AWESOME list! Thanks for compiling it!

Tribute Tea Company

I don’t see samples. It’s just eight dollars and up.

They have 3 for $10 flights if you look on the front page. And you get to customize which 3 teas you want. :)

What is the sample size though? ‘Cause that’s 3.33 each.

8-12 gram of tea. enough for 2-3 cups plus you can resteep. Excellent tea!!!

That still seems expensive. I can get a whole ounce for that some places.

That’s one reason I love Adagio. Their samples are a good size and value. Thank you for making this list, I was wondering the same thing.

Amanda’s list is pretty conclusive. Of those I would personally recommend Harney & Sons https://www.harney.com Huge selection, great quality.
Mahamosa Gourmet http://www.mahamosa.com/teabar/en/ Also an enormous selection, excellent pricing.
The Persimmon Tree also sells very reasonably priced samples, but they don’t have a huge selection. Delicious teas though. http://www.persimmontreetea.com

Yezi lets you get three teas for three dollars. Don’t remember how many grams though.

If you want to spend around $30, Lupicia has a a decent sized sampler with individual samples of a lot of their tea flavors. I bought this when I was in SF and loved it, it helps you get a taste for what you like. You can view it online here:

The other thing I would recommend is trying out a traveling tea box. It helps circulate your stash and lets you try a bunch of new stuff from the lovely Steepsters!
