David's Tea Suggestions...

I was going by a store in SF this weekend. Can’t decide what to get, except I known I want a black tea and maybe something from the Summer/ carnival collection.

Any suggestions?

I really like their Glitter and Gold. I mostly get a cinnamon tea vibe from it, though I guess it has lemon peel/cloves/vanilla in it, and no actual cinnamon. Lol. But it’s still nice. And it makes sparkly gold flakes in the tea too.
I also really like the Nepal Black. It’s not really malty or sweet. Last time I had it I remember it being kinda musky/earthy and maybe a bit malty. (my Mom kinda hated it though. Lol!) It’s certainly different from my other black teas, that for sure. So it’s good when I want something different.
Red Velvet Cake used to be my absolute favorite when I first started drinking tea, though it didn’t really remind me of a red velvet cake at all honestly. I’ve kinda gravitated away from heavily flavored teas so now I like it a bit less than I did, but it’s still a good dessert type tea to try.

I’ve got some Red Velvet Cake, and I was thinking about Nepal Black. It seems like the wrong season for Glitter and Gold.

+1 for G&G. It’s beautiful if you have a clear teapot or travel tea glass! Oh, and I like the taste, too :)

Black Jasmine Pearls!
Well, if you like jasmine tea, that is :)
That tea is available online in a 250g bag, but last time I checked (like a couple months ago) it was on the wall so you can get like a 1/2oz!

I know they’re doing a thing where if you purchase a travel mug, you can get a full 50g of tea for free. But since you’re going to the SF store, it may be like 2oz?

Blueberry Jam is one of my favourites, both iced and hot.
Buddha’s Blend is another good one, iced and hot.
Mango Lassi is lovely iced!

I was planning on only getting half an ounce.

Naww yeah, the full ounce or two is if you purchase a travel mug. If you need a travel mug, might as well get one so you can get free tea :)
But of course, if you want t purchase just tea, a half oz is perfectly fine!

I just looked up David’s Tea – I never realized there were so many companies that sold tea. Anyway, I saw this advertisement for a cotton candy rooibos, and I would want to buy a sample of that, but it might just be the shiny advertisement or the fact that you get a free sample after buying a thermos. It looks quite colorful, though I must admit these undefined sprinkles and whatever brittle is sounds a bit scary. I don’t normally go for these flavors, but if you can’t decide there’s the sampler that comes in a rather attractive box with rock candy stir sticks for 27.50.

For black tea, the blueberry jam sounds like a rather mellow tea. If you want something spicier, there are several chai teas, and the chocolate chili chai sounds pretty fun. If I had to buy something for myself, I would go with the Kenyan or the Nepal black tea, because I don’t have anything like either of them.

I know you said black tea, but I looooooove the vanilla orchid oolong. If you haven’t tried that one, I suggest you pick some up!

It does sound good, but I have so many oolongs from Teavivre.

I’m enjoying the Tirimisu blend of their rooibos Birthday Cake and Coffee Puerh, but I’m not normally a big fan of their teas. Their glass carafe is pretty awesome for cold brewing teas in a pretty pitcher.

Personally, my two favourite DT black blends are Blueberry Jam and Cranberry Pear (I’ve yet to find a way I don’t enjoy this one). They’re also two of my favourite flavoured blacks in general. I also really liked Buttered Rum, though after burning through nearly 100g of it I’m a bit sick of it now.

Rootbeer Float is also really good, though it’s a seasonal blend (but black base, and carnival collection!). And, I know a lot of people here speak pretty highly of Fantasy Island, though personaly I thought it was just ok.

Anyone try the Love # 7 tea? How is it?

It’s pretty good. I have it and drink it on occasion. Not my favorite, but I may buy it again.

I liked it a lot when I was drinking mainly flavored teas, which wasn’t that long ago, but my tastes seem to be evolving fast and I’m drinking mainly unflavored teas now. I should probably try it again and see how I feel now.

Too bad you’re going this weekend, or I would just send you some samples

I was planning to only get two teas. If you’re in the US, samples are welcome. The tea I’m getting from Lupicia is similar. And I’m liking more unflavoured teas too.

I can totally send you some samples. I have Goji Pop, Chocolate Rocket, Forever Nuts, Love Tea #7, Read my Lips, Quangzhou milk oolong, Vanilla Orchid, and Bamboozled from David’s Tea. PM me and we can set something up if you’re interested.

Oops, I meant Pom Tango, not Goji Pop

I’ve had Love Tea #7 (actually had it today cold brewed); it’s best served hot and with a splash of milk. Nice enough; but not really anything special, especially considering a lot of companies do strawberry/chocolate teas.
