Gut issues, it is mint here too, or a mint/licorice or fennel blend. For a cold, hate to say it but I break out a cold formula herbal tea bag. Nasty tasting, but medicinal.

Lemon ginger every time. I get fresh raw ginger and a fresh lemon, chop, zest, steep, sip.

If I’m sick I reach for one of these herbals: mint/tulsi, lemon/ginger, or Celestial Seasonings Honey Vanilla Chamomile. The last is a straight comfort tea. The other two tend to help with tummy and sinus issues.

For my horrible stomach: A cheap sheng or shou. OR Ginger boiled in water.
For cold/flu: Ginseng and goji berries boiled in a pot of water. (I’m about to make that right now!)

For stomach: A ginger blend is a must, favorites are Verdant’s Ginger Sage Spa Winter Blend or DavidsTea’s Super Ginger. If I am feeling really horrible and have it on had, cut up ginger in boiling water with honey (and add lemon juice if I have the flu). If I have no ginger teas I will have a mint tea.

For allergies/sinuses: Currently loving DavidsTea’s Cold 911 as it is minty and the eucalyptus really opens up my airways. My lungs have been bad recently along with nose and everything…bah, I hate having asthma. Plain peppermint is also good as are spicy teas. Also really wanting to try some nettles as I have heard many positives regarding allergies from using them!

Headache: Anything with mint. Super strong mint. I don’t know if it really helps, but it seems to haha, it might all be in my head (pun intended).

Also, licorice blends are nice for sore throats, and anything with honey is a huge plus if I am sick (and I will also usually add it) for the sugar and smoothing effect on the throat/stomach.

I have yet to find a good shu blend for my stomach, as usually caffeine aggravates it more, herbals are nicer on it haha.

I usually keep the Prince of Peace Ginger Honey crystals on hand and I pour a half a packet of them into whatever tea I happen to be drinking when I’m feeling under the weather.

Oh I’ve never heard of those. I might have to add them to my order the next time I place an amazon order.

I get them from my local Whole Foods, they have a very intense ginger flavor. You can drink it on it’s own too, but I prefer it when I use a half a packet in a cup of tea.

If i’m just feeling down, anything green tends to cheer me up.
If I’m stressed out or my BP is rocketing Tazo Calm (chamomile+rosehips) or chrysanthemum tea.
If it’s something like the cold or the flu: Ginger, Lemon, Honey. (With or without tea)
If my asthma is acting out or I’m just clogged up and mucus-y for some other reason (like allergies), I have a pot of spearmint in the yard that I’ll usually use to make Moroccan Mint tea. I haven’t been too picky about which green to use for this though, sometimes it’s gunpowder, mostly it’s whatever is at the front of the cupboard.

know any sources for chrysanthemum tea?

Usually my Taiwan-visiting friends keep me in stock, but usually you can find chrysanthemum at any major asian grocery. The hard thing is finding it loose, alot of the time it comes as an ‘instant tea’ powder. I find it loose at SF supermarket and random groceries here and there (no luck at 99 ranch… yet). You can also try apothecaries/herbalists, they should have it. Let me know if you still have trouble, and I might be willing to go grab some and ship it off to you. =)
Recently our Safeway started carrying more asian products and now they carry the bagged form in the ‘asian products’ aisle (probably varies by store).

It’s also available on Amazon, and presumably Ebay if you’re looking at online retailers.

If tummy ache: peppermint. If full-blown cold: ginger tea, and sometimes peppermint.
