Help! Where can I find this tea?

A family friend sent me over a box of tie guan yin oolong from China, and it’s the best tea I’ve ever had! I’m almost out, and I’m trying to find where I can buy more. Only problem is, everything’s in Chinese! Does anyone recognize this tea or have any idea of where I could buy some more? I’ve tried tie guan yin from Teavana and now Rishi hoping they would be similar, but it’s not close. Any help would be appreciated!

Those types of individual packets are common on Aliexpress/Ebay. Maybe try browsing those sites and see if you can find a matching package?

Can I ask if this tea is a green oolong style or a dark roasted style?

I think it’s a green oolong style.

Check to see if there is any English identifying the factory on it. It might help in your search.

Unfortunately, almost everything is in Chinese. The words in English don’t offer much help. Great idea, though!

You might try posting on www.teachat.com and asking for a translation. They have more people who read Chinese there.

Thank you! I’ll try that.

Thank you everyone for your responses! I’m new to oolong, but I think it’s a green oolong (especially since it says “China Famous Tea Green Drink” on the box.

Almost everything is in Chinese, yyz, so there’s no way to identify the factory, though that’s a good idea.

One of the best green TGY’s I’ve bought came from Julian at Amazing Green Tea, http://shop.amazing-green-tea.com/index.html . His also comes in the little packages but be forewarned, it ain’t cheap. Verdant had a green TGY that was very similar and less pricey, it was a tea that one of his mentor’s said reminded her of what she drank as a youngster and had a citrus’y flavor. But he only had one batch of it and it’s gone. His other green TGY is okay, but I prefer the roasted traditional style.

You might try downloading the Google Glasses app on your phone and taking a picture of the packaging with it. It seems to identify a lot of stuff.

Good luck in finding some! You may be able to find someone who can read it, but often times foil packs like that are generic and won’t mention the company. The best thing may be to just to try some more TGYs to find one that’s similar

Thank you to everyone who replied! One of the Chinese ESL students at work was able to translate for me and found the province, and I’ve since found a tea that tastes remarkably similar. Thank you!!
