Butiki Teas: Mystery Teas Revealed!!! Herbs & Spices?
If anyone that got a box would like to swap/sell for some crimson horizon (if there is any in the box), let me know….any fully oxidized black tea for that matter!
Just putting this out there, mystery tea #1 is wow! I am in love love love!
We did make another mystery tea just in case we have enough tea left to offer more boxes. Mystery tea number #2 was made for sugar. With sugar, it is just phenomenal.

for the record…going to the website and seeing the giant WE ARE CLOSED FOR BUSINESS made me super sad..
Typing that made me sad and touching up a few of the other pages as well. I’m a little nervous how I will take everything. Yesterday I had a moment of panic. The last few months and especially the last week have been so busy that I haven’t had time to really think about it. This week is very busy as well but the following week I think it will really hit me.
Aw, so sad to see that! Stacy, you couldn’t have done a better job over the years, at least in my experience! Always so many unique teas. I can’t believe Butiki started in 2008… it seems like I’ve been sipping these teas far longer than that. I’m also wondering why the Butiki page says only 200 teas were offered when the Steepster page says there are 257. There can’t be that many Steepster doubles?
It’s bumming me out too. Just seems so… final. Stacy, we’re sad to see Butiki go, but you’re leaving behind one heck of a legacy (legatea?).
I had to go check out the website, Sil. I really wish we could all have some crazy tea bash with loud music and Butiki tea flowing, and kettles all set to the right temps for each tea… !! It would be so fantastic!

DeliriumsFrogs-That would be awesome! Hahaha. You guys should hear what I listen to when I make teas and I streamed the whole series of The Wire. If your teas taste like Baltimore, my bad. Yes, a Skinny Puppy day is in order! Darn, I wish I saved myself some Heaven’s Trash.
I lived in Baltimore – tea could never taste like Baltimore. Landfill runoff MAYBE could taste like Baltimore.

YES! I’m so happy I ordered but I’m super impatient about finding out what’s inside. :P (Yes, I’m 33, going on 5.)
Other than a few of the mystery boxes, the only tea we have left is our 1989 Suncha Blend puerh. We have just 600 grams left (about 1 1/3 pounds). If someone is interested in that we would be happy to sell all 600 grams for $60 + shipping. That’s just $10 for every 100 grams!
Also, every order except for a couple complicated orders have been packed and labeled and will ship in a few hours. Any refunds will be processed today. :)

Hello Friends! Just wanted to say that we really truly appreciate the support that we have received from the Steepster Community. Over the years this community has helped us grow and improve our teas through the feedback we received. We were able to chat with and make friends with people all over the world and from different walks of life. We also received so many interesting ideas, some of which we were able to make a reality. Thank you all so very much!

Mystery Teas (from the "What’s In the Box???!!!)
Since most people seem to be interested in guessing these two teas, let’s turn this into a game. I’m not sure if we have any prizes left to give but if you would like to do this for fun, please send your guesses to [email protected]. Mystery Tea #1 has: 1 tea & 5 flavorings. Mystery Tea #2 has: 1 tea & 3 flavorings. You can list the flavorings in order from most amounts used to least amount used and don’t forget to mention which tea we picked. In 2 weeks (we have some international customers who bought them) we will announce who came the closest. I think the first tea will be the trickiest. How good are you at picking out flavors?

As our way of thanking this awesome community, we will be doing a contest in about a week for some teaware that we have left. Nothing too involved, just a small contest. Also, we have enough samples left to do another Educational TTB. For more info on what we did with the last Educational TTB, check this thread: http://steepster.com/discuss/7310-traveling-butiki-educational-box Also, we do have a lot of herbal ingredients left. I thought it might be fun to do a Blending box. This will have things like marshmallow leaf, orange peel, cinnamon chips, smoked Hawaiian Sea Salt, Safflower, lime leaves, vanilla, Hops, etc. This is for people who might like to try blending an herbal or even adding some spices or peels to their teas. Marzipan will be running these boxes if there is enough interest. There will be more info about this in a few weeks (since I might not have internet access in the next 8 days).
I’d be interested in purchasing some of those herbal ingredients for blending. :)

Just putting it out there – for the herbal/blending TTB I’d be willing to ship to the States if someone else is willing to ship to Canada. That way we could have a Canadian leg ;) But, I’ll let that all be worked out later :P

Sure can. They will be expensive. Well, everything except the necklace and bombilla. Most of these items will be well over a pound.

I really love the Paisley gaiwan, and am also interested in the yixing cups and a bombilla. As long as the shipping isn’t too eye-watering!
I posted a shipping charge response on Facebook. Combined, the shipping is a lot better. The first pound is always the most expensive. Great. The gaiwan is yours. Let me know if you want the bombilla and which one. They are only a $1.00 each. I doubt that would make much of a difference in shipping charges. Also, do you want me to hold a yixing cup for you?
