LONG JING... and the likes

Original Long Jing comes from the villages Long Jing and Mejawu. They are tiny villages near Hangzhou. Clearly they cannot serve the need the Long Jing needs of the whole Country.
That’s way there are many fake around. I wouldn’t trust a Long Jing source if they pretend having an original, pre-Qing Ming one with more than 10kg on stock.

Last spring there were tea shop in Shanghai selling Long Jing 2014 when the harvest in Zhejiang had not yet started!
The leaves were pale green and fresh though. It was definitely a 2014 tea. Where from? I think from southern Provinces like Sichuan and Yunnan, where spring arrives earlier in the season.

Now the question is:
What do you think about non-original Long Jing? Are they still as tasty as the original one?
And what about Xi Hu Long Jing? All those Long Jing tea coming from around the West lake, including regions hundreds of kilometers from Long Jing village?
