English Tea Store - no customer service response

So… I fished in awhile back when English Tea Store had a sale on teapots. I needed a plain black one for Halloween. The teapot arrived after being backordered and while a bit more info would have been nice in the description and the in pot strainer is super flimsy, it was fine. The other part of my order is still on backorder from the first part of October. I have contacted customer service only to get that standard “we will contact you in 24 hours” type of response and after that, silence.

They haven’t charged my card for the backordered part of the order but with no idea of when that might be coming it’s kind of not the point anymore. And both items were in stock when I ordered them… somehow that night there must have been a run on plain black teapots and PG Tips Strong.

As with everything, I’m sure there are plenty of people with good experiences with this web merchant. Just figured I’d throw a heads-up out there for the Steepster peeps. :)

They usually take a while to ship things, in my experience. But I’ve not tried to contact them much.
Something I ordered was backordered though, and so I had to wait for that, but when they got that item they shipped it really fast.
I have had a good experience with them-but yeah, they can be pretty slow.

I’d be okay with the backordering and everything if they’d just communicate about it. :( I’m sure I’ll fish in again some day since I like several of their teapots and they are generally reasonable on prices…

Same experience. I had issues with them (found a feather in some tea, pebbles and clumps of dirt in another tea, tea dust packaged as loose leaf…). Never heard back, just wrote them off :(
