"Potions?"

So I had this idea for using tea as “potions,” for a Halloween or Harry Potter party. While it would work if one person just does a “demonstration” for the “class,” I think it would be more fun to have the class make their own potions! However, I’m still a n00b when it comes to tea, so I don’t know much about mixing and matching…. What would you guys suggest? Would it work best to make potions books and have recipes for different brews? or to just let people experiment with basic tea guidelines and some fool-proof ingredients?

You could probably be pretty safe with dessert flavors, i.e. caramel, chocolate, vanilla, etc. as those flavors usually combine well. And awesome idea!!

I’d just use a base of a strong black tea then let people go nuts with the add-ins. I just recently saw a tea that had candy corns and licorice bats in it. Here’s one with black cats and orange sprinkles:

I know this isn’t exactly what you’re looking for, but Dr. Tea’s Tea Garden has some great Halloween/fall themed teas that are already blended. Note: some of these are standard teas simply renamed.
