Undrinkable. I’m not sure how anyone else can drink this tea, I found the aroma to be overwhelmingly like play-doh. Maybe my canister got messed up somehow, but I have never in my life been more disappointed in a tea. I would drink lipton over this any day of the week, and plan on throwing out the rest of the container. I tried it both hot and iced, hoping that the play-dohness wouldn’t be as strong if I cold brewed it but no luck.

Once again another lovely sample from The Cookie Lady, making this my 5th cup of black tea today! I decided to try this tea without first looking up what others thought of it, and was able to really smell the sweetness of the tea but couldn’t quite place it. Now that I ‘peeked’ it clicked for me that it is caramel and I can’t believe I couldn’t figure it out on my own! The black tea base to this is very mellow and with absolutely no bitterness which I love. I think for my next cup I will sweeten it a bit to really bring out the caramel flavors in addition to the aroma.

Thanks to the cookielady for sending me a sample of this tea! As others have said it def has a chocolate and peanut butter smell to it, but personally I could only really taste the chocolate as opposed to just smelling. I also noticed on the top of the cup oil dropplets that I think are responsible for alot of the peanut aroma? Overall I enjoyed this tea, but only recommend it to people if they are looking for chocolate with a hint of peanut butter and not the other way around.

drank Pistachio Ice Cream by Butiki Teas

I’m not usually a green tea drinker, so for me a 75 for a green is a pretty good rating. I had this over thanksgiving weekend, and decided to really drive home the pistachio taste by eating this with a bowl of pistachios, I know overkill right? In a way I thought that eating them together almost hid the pistachio flavor of the tea allowing a sweetness to come through. Maybe it was becasue the actaul pistachios were so strong that they were ‘cancelled out’ in the tea? I didn’t necessarily get an ‘ice cream’ taste from this, but there was a richness to the mouthfeel that gave it more body than regular green tea. Overall I would recommend this tea to green tea lovers, but the flavors were a little delicate for me to appreciate fully. Will try again with sugar and possibly milk to bring out the creaminess more.

The fig smell is strong, with a hint of vanilla, but I don’t really smell lemon at all. Buying a fig flavored tea was a streach for me since I’m not a big fan of actual fans (the texture throws me off). I added a bit of sugar to mine to bring out the figgy sweetness and it is wonderful. I find that with a little bit of sugar I can taste the vanilla more strongly. As for the base of the tea it is wonderfully strong without being bitter, which I find to be a similarity across the flavored h&s teas.

drank Ginger's Oolong by Harney & Sons

The dry leaves smell strongly of ginger and tea, but oddly enough I thought I smelled coffee notes when it was brewed up. The aroma is mostly ginger, but the tea smell is also very strong. The coffee aroma went away once the tea cooled down a bit, which was kind of wierd to me. I don’t have alot of experience with oolongs, but to me this tastes like a milder black tea, with absolutly no bitterness whatsoever, which I love. I’m a ginger fanatic and the smell of ginger is not as strong as the taste, so the next time I brew this up I think I will toss a couple slices of fresh ginger in the water first to kick it up a notch. Overall tasty and well balanced, with both the tea and ginger coming through roughly equally, but personally I would prefer a stronger, spicier flavor.

drank Chocolate Mint by Harney & Sons

Love this tea and sad to say its my last cup, I’ve decided to switch it up and restock with the florence to get my chocolate fix. The aroma of this tea is very clearly chocolate mint, but what I enjoyed was the minty, cooling flavor of the tea. I didn’t get too much of a chocolate flavor, mostly because the mint was so strong. I’ve enjoyed this both hot and iced, and felt that it was slighltly better hot. One thing I wanted to try with this but didn’t get around to would be to make a tea mocha by adding in some hot cocoa mix, def on the list of things to try when I get it next.

The smell from this tea is strong to the point that it kind of hurts your nose and can be smelled from across the room. I found drinking this hot to be a little wierd, because of the strong lemon taste and smell. I enjoyed it most iced poured over frozen raspberries to make a sort of raspberry lemondade iced tea. Over all I would not buy again, since I only sorta enjoyed it iced and found the aroma to be overly artificial.

Flavors: Artificial, Hibiscus, Lemon

drank Hot Cinnamon Spice by Harney & Sons

Favorite tea by far. I normally buy tea in the smallest size I can because I like to hop from one to the next, but I plan on buying a pound of this one the next time I’m in the store. The sweet cinnamon flavor (artificial, I know but don’t care) makes this tea a treat all on its own. I even like to make my own tea blends with this tea to get that sweet taste with other flavors. So far I have mixed it with chai and Holiday tea, both came out awesome. The black tea base is smooth and flavorful without being bitter, and mixed with the sweet cinnamon, clove, and orange flavors comes out perfect every time.

Tastes pretty bland to me. I was really hoping I would like David’s Tea more than I am, since it has such a good reputation on this sight. I didn’t get the ‘tea’ taste as much as I had hoped, even when I brewed it with more tea for longer. The sparkles are a really fun touch, but in the future I would just by the sprinkles and but them into a more flavorful tea.

Hello person reading this! I’m a lover of flavored teas, especially ones from Harney and Sons. I generally perfer black, but flavored white, green or oolong can be fun too, even herbals. I think that decaffinated teas are weird though, thats the one thing not in my cabinets at anytime. I live in NYC so I am close to some pretty cool tea shops, and am a Med student who hates coffe, so need the caffine burst of large quantities of tea. I’m bascially on here to find some new teas to try, and maybe do a swap or two!
