64 Tasting Notes
My neighbor was raving about this tea when I saw her at the convenience store, and I love peach, so I grabbed a can. This is one of the best pre-bottled (or in this case, canned) teas I’ve tried. It claims no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. Apparently" flavors" only applies to the fruit flavor added, because besides the sugar, it’s got sucralose, too (which is artificial, and does contribute to flavor).
Anyhoo, the peach in this tea is not fakey at all. It’s pretty natural-tasting. I thought with the sucralose there might be a tinge of aftertaste, but I really didn’t notice any. The tea itself was a lot smoother than other pre-bottled teas, without that weird little tang one tends to notice. The peach here is abundant, and really is the star of the show, though it doesn’t fully mask the tea, either. I’m definitely going to grab a couple more cans of this when I fill up my gas tank today. It isn’t like home-brewed, but it is quite drinkable.
I am assuming that the Golden Monkey I am drinking is from Art of Tea, but it’s really a best guess. I got it bulk at a local tea store we have in the mall, and other teas I got samples of have distinctive names that come up under Art of Tea, so I’m guessing that is a primary bulk source for them. It matches the picture spot on on the page here.
At any rate, this is a nice way to end the school day. This one has a light, crisp taste, slightly of honey. It goes down smoothly. I have managed somehow to tweak (or more like wrench) my lower back/hip this week, and after powering through the last three days days of work, chiropractor, meds, heat, and ice, I just wanted something comforting. This is doing the trick.
This is pretty nice. There’s plenty of berry, and it’s sweet with just a little bit of tart. I just wish I could taste more of the tea along with the berry. I’m drinking this with my customary two sugars, and it’s making the fruit flavor really pop. I might actually order some of this down the road.
I like this even better than the last time I brewed a mug of it, and I liked the bejeebers out of it then, too. I’m getting honey, cocoa, and just a tinge of smokiness. I’m drinking it from my gigantic (20 oz.) Batman mug, so by the time I finish, I may be in such bliss that I forget about all the excessive amount of snow outside. I also mean to try the brambleberry black Downton Abbey tea sample I got this past week today, but I bet it will pale in comparison to the Queen. Next time I buy this one, I’m whizzing past the 8 oz. tin and going straight to the one pound bag.
This is one of the better Earl Grey teas I’ve had, since it’s not too heavy on the bergamot. I really have to be in the mood for it. It’s still snowy and cold here, and I really gravitate toward blacks when that’s the case, but I decided I wanted something with a little flavor, too. This is fitting the bill.
