drank Tropical Fruit by Pickwick

Passion fruit, mango and pineapple are evident in aroma. Banana – very subtle, I probably wouldn’t sense it if not the ingredient list. Slight earthy notes from the base tea in the background.
Passion fruit dominates the taste, with banana a little behind and other fruits and base tea notes in the back.
All in all it’s not bad, really fruity.

Good balance between malty character of the base tea and fresh notes of lemon peels in aroma.
In taste the peel notes are dominant, the base tea is in the background.
Nice, refreshing, with strong essential oils.

Very strong and very fruity aroma, with evident notes of blackberry, raspberry and strawberry.
The taste is not that rich. There are fruity notes, of course, no sweetness at all, very subtle sourness and some maltiness in background, but the overall impression is very far from overwhelming.

Boiling 5 min, 0 sec 2 g 8 OZ / 250 ML

drank Indian Assam by Pickwick

Nice deep colour.
Strong malty flavour.
The taste is quite characterful for a Pickwick, rich but at the same rounded, with only slight astringency.
Nothing special, but for a Pickwick it’s quite extraordinary. :)

Boiling 5 min, 0 sec 2 g 8 OZ / 250 ML

drank Earl Grey by Pickwick

Boring, bland aroma with bergamot on the sensory threshold.
Generic corporate black tea as the base, with subtle malty notes and again, barely discernible traces of bergamot.

All in all it’s a just a corporate vision of Earl Grey.

Flavors: Malt

Preparation
Boiling 5 min, 0 sec 2 g 7 OZ / 200 ML

drank Russian Earl Grey by Lipton
382 tasting notes

Bergamot and citrus aromas of equal strength, quite refreshing, slight malty character.
Bergamot is very subtle, the citrusy notes are more eminent. Slight astringency.

All in all it’s just a typical corporate product – base black tea of dubious quality, not enough aromas, not enough taste.

Flavors: Bergamot, Citrus, Earth, Lemon

Preparation
Boiling 5 min, 0 sec 2 g 8 OZ / 250 ML

Very malty and a bit earthy in taste, quite rich, a bit astringent.
Not bad for a mass produced tea, yet nothing spectacular.

Strong ginger and nice lemon grass in aroma, slight peppery notes, a little liquorice.
Very subtle green tea in taste, disctinct spicy notes from ginger and pepper, a lot of lemon undertones.

Good, balanced, the adjuncts only slightly dominate the proper tea, very refreshing.

drank Strawberry by Pickwick

Very strong but rather artificial strawberry aroma, like in sweets.
Nice, maltish base, subtle strawberry notes (in taste they seem more natural).
The overall impression is not bad, especially for a Pickwick.

Flavors: Malt, Strawberry

It really smells like warm, freshly baked lemon macaroons! With subtle green tea notes in the background.
It’s not sweet. The base green tea is not high quality, of course, but it’s quite discernible. There are strong lemon peel notes (not sour) and strong biscuit notes.

Not bad (for Lipton).

Flavors: Cake, Fruity, Lemon Zest

Bio

I drink tea almost all the time.

However, my tea drinking can be divided into two main categories.

1. I work a lot at my computer and when I work, I need to always have tea at hand. That’s when I drink bag varieties, mostly black blends, often corporate ones. They need to be at least drinkable, of course, but I don’t focus on the taste much, though I don’t go below a certain level…

2. When I read (and read a lot) or when I’m just relaxing, I savor tea. That’s when the better varieties come into play, that’s when I use leafs instead of bags, that’s when I really focus on what I’m drinking.

I’m Polish, temporarily living in Copenhagen, Denmark.
