This is nice! I’ve never had green rooibos before, but I think I like it better than rooibos. It doesn’t have a lot of that rooibos flavor, which makes it much better for fruit flavoring.

You know, I absolutely love this tea. I don’t know why, it’s not THAT good, I have so many amazing high end first flush darjeelings in my cupboard. But it was the tea that got me really in to tea drinking as a kid. Its delicate but has a bit of the astringency that I crave, courtesy of my English roots. I like this tea, it’s easy to drink and I can buy it in the grocery store.

Dry Leaves: Smells like orange juice! Very fruity and citrusy.

Tasting: Fruity and sweet, almost like a hint of fruit juice rather than a tea. I regret adding sugar, it made it far too sweet. Definitely does not need any help being sweet.

Flavors: Citrus, Fruity, Orange

I received this as my first order with Verdant, part of the 5-for-5 deal for new customer. I love this tea, I’ll definitely be purchasing more.

Leaves: Long fuzzy silver leaves, very light, floral, and fragrant.

Taste notes: very delicate, the Jasmine flavor is very light and nice. It has a natural sweetness to it, I definitely wouldn’t add anything sweet to it. Perfect on its own.

Dry leaves: smells very strongly of hazelnut. Not very pu erh like?

5 minutes in boiling water.

Tasting note: the traditional pu erh earthiness comes out more in the tase, but it’s not overbearing. Very hazelnutty, vey little berry flavor but it’s there. Kind of. Not bad, but I probably won’t buy it again, this little sample bag is enough for me.

Dry nose: lightly minty, fragrant, sweet.

Tasting note: lightly minty, fragrant, sweet. Pretty straightforward, the candy cane sprinkles are fun. I think next time I make this I’m going to garnish it with a candy cane and let that add a bit more minty sweetness. Yeah.

I am really not a fan of the smell of this tea right out of the bag. It’s very pungent, almost chemical. But I thought I’d give it a shot anyways, and make a chai latte with almond milk.

12oz unsweetened almond milk
4oz whole milk
3tsp sugar
2tsp tea
Boiled for 8 minutes on the stovetop.

Tastes much better than it smells I think, the cinnamon is lovely and the vanilla stands out without being too overbearing, like it smells.

Flavors: Cinnamon, Vanilla
