Yum! Thanks, Nicole_Martin for a sample of this.

This is a great afternoon tea. I love the soft, almost fuzzy leaves. The taste is light, tangy mixed greens. It is a bright but not astringent. There are pineapple and citrus notes.

Weird tea! It tastes like mango at first but then breaks down into a bunch of different flavors. The second flavor is strong citrus, most reminiscent of grapefruit. The third flavor is creamy. It must be the vanilla, but it really, really tastes like coconut. The chamomile is nice in this- not overwhelmingly grassy like some. Overall I do like this, but it doesn’t taste like mango after a while.

Thanks, Shelley_Lorraine for this tea!

A light, spring-like oolong. It starts out with buttery like sauteed asparagus with a hint of a floral. It becomes spicy with hints of minerals at the end of the cup.

I just broke into my newest package of laoshan black. Is it possible that this is even chocolatier and honey sweet? Maybe it’s just amazing because I haven’t had it in a few weeks and I made extra strong this morning. Morning bliss!

This review makes me smile. :)

Fuzzy_Peachkin

Hurrah for smiles!

It’s really chilly out, so I decided on a fall-flavored tea. Creamy pumpkin and not too heavy on the spices.

Since I’m in the neighborhood, I stopped by press tea and had the Wild Himalayan Black Tea. Last time I had it with cream and I felt I couldn’t properly gauge how the pressed tea compared to a normal black. This time I got it straight. Woohee! This is bitter and strongly malty. I had 3 sips and then I had to sweeten it. Once I added honey, it smoothed out the flavor and was much better. There is a build up of bitterness in the mouthfeel and I feel like I need to brush my teeth. This isn’tsmething I would drink on a regular basis.

greenteafairy

I’ll have to go back and try this straight – it actually sounds like something I’d really enjoy, since I love black teas that are super strong and malty!

Fuzzy_Peachkin

I like strong and malty, but not bitter.

greenteafairy

Yeah, my bitterness threshold’s also pretty high – I think it comes from drinking too much (very strong) coffee over the years…

teamore

Could the bitterness just be the steeping process? Too bad you can’t just buy some leaves and make yourself. I love a good strong black tea, myself. Greenteafairy, our tastes are an exact match. lol.

Assam tea at Tea & Sympathy. I’m much too tired to even ask what brand tea this is. All I know is I’m enjoying a proper pot of tea. Sweet, malty and from a ceramic pot. Cosy and yummy!

I am all exhausted from my friend’s wedding weekend. I got upgraded from bridesmaid to ringbearer once the bride forgot the rings at her apartment in Inwood. I had to get back on the A train for 45 min and then head back to Penn Station. I’m glad we found out before we left Manhattan for Long Island! I haven’t had a decent cup of tea since yesterday morning and I really need to get myself some ASAP! This iced tea is a nice holdover, which I bought with lunch @ Pota-topia.

It’s better than Snapple Peach. It is less sweet with a bolder, maltier base. The peach flavor is natural, but not something that will make me want it again as a regular thing.

Ysaurella

the bride forgot the rings ? Erm…allo Mr Freud, would you have a cup of tea ?

Fuzzy_Peachkin

Lol! She switched purses at the last second and the little black jewelry box did not make it into the other purse! She had the wedding license though!

Again tea is my moment of calm. I love this tea and since I’m the first one up of all the females in the bridal party, I’m savouring drinking it and enjoying the quiet before I start making breakfast for everyone. A special tea to start off my friend’s special day! :-)

Terri HarpLady

Ooh, a wedding?
I love weddings! (Good thing, since I play at least one almost every weekend!)
Have fun today, & congrats to your friend!

yyz

Have fun! I hope everything goes perfectly.

Fuzzy_Peachkin

Lol! I’ve already had to go an hour backward to pick up the rings which were forgotten!

CHAroma

I hope your friend’s wedding was perfect! May they have many happy times together until the end of their days.

I run, I sing, I drink tea. That’s the best description I have of me.

I’ve always enjoyed tea, but have just started trying out a lot more loose teas and varied brands. I’m really excited about a site like steepster so I can read about what people think about different teas.

Oh and I really hate Lipton tea. There’s something just awful about it and I can’t understand why nearly every local diner only has Lipton.

Also I’m on the search for a full-bodied, fruity blackberry tea. So if you have any suggestions feel free to throw them my way! :-)
