This random steeping is actually a review of the bag I steeped it in. Most of my tea buddies have adequate gear that allows me to share unbagged loose leaves. However, once in a while, a DIY paper filter is helpful, either for sharing or for dealing with looseleaf at the office.
I have used the T-Sac brand for years, but they are a little finicky in that the only closure is a flap that isn’t always very secure and can land you with a cup of leaf soup. So, courtesy, of a gift card, I found a drawstring variety at Amazon and bought a bundle: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F5W6TPX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The drawstrings aren’t in a loop, so they can be tied in a hard knot, and the filter material is pretty substantial, which means steep time needs to be increased just a bit. Further research will be required in that area. But all in all, cheap and performs as advertised.

These are the kind I use (or at least similar to the kind I use). I don’t like how paper teabags can sometimes make my tea taste like paper or cardboard, so I prefer corn fiber which is what these are typically made of and I’ve never had “taste” issues with them. I also love the drawstring! I use them constantly; usually my “nightly herbal” cuppa I stick in one of these guys and just leave the bag in the cup as I sip, because I like the taste of herbals when they’ve stewed for ages.
I bought similar ones, but way too small ones. It is hard to put even teaspoon in! So, I found other ones, which are actually way too big, but it’s good. As it won’t get all wet, it is easy to pick them out from water. On the other hand, they don’t have drawstring.
No affect of taste at all though :)
