Even 3 years later, this tea is still good. I picked this up from the Ala Moana store in Honolulu in 2011. It has a nice pineapple and guava taste at the end with a clean oolong taste up front. It is naturally sweet, but doesn’t have the complexity in flavor that most oolongs have.

Wow, this tea is pretty complex. I used about 3.5 teaspoons to 2.5 cups and steeped it for about 3 minutes. It doesn’t have a strong smell dry, but when brewed it almost reminds me of a lapsang. The smell is mildly earthy and smoked. The sip starts of strong with the taste of the forest floor in autumn and finished with a drying astringency (probably due to me steeping it at 212 instead of 208). Since it is highly oxidized, it drinks like a black tea instead of an oolong. I like my oolongs a little less oxidized.

This doesn’t really seem like a special or decadent tea to me. It just seems normal. If I tasted it at a tea room, I would think it was a nice black tea. It smells a bit sweet, but the sip leaves me with a strong astringent taste that I can’t get over or associate with cheesecake.

This tea wasn’t bad, but the two different times I drank it, it tastes completely different. The first was nice, but not memorable. The second I had to toss. It was overwhelmingly bitter. I think since I have such a small sample size of it, different amounts of the ingredients are in each cup, which makes a huge difference.

Bummer this is my 100th tasting note!

This fruity jasmine green tea is quite smooth and fruity. I love when fruit teas actually have a taste to match up to their aroma. The sip opens up with fruitiness and finishes with a slight grass and astringency from the green tea.

Nice to drink, but not sure if it’s special enough to become a regular part of my rotation.

I got this as a sample from carol who. It doesn’t taste like rose to me at all, but similar to a fruit punch or hibiscus tea. It’s not offensive, but it’s very sweet.

I think I might prefer the Roasted Apple from Della Terra, but this is still quite nice. I love the smell of it when brewing. It is very warm and smells purely of apple with a little bread and spice at the end. If apple pie (the tart, refreshing kind) were a tea, this would be it!

This tea is delightfully smooth and pleasant. The taste is very clean and smells sweet and vegetal. The sip opens with sweet grassiness and finishes with roasted rice. It has a nice, creamy mouth-feel and reminds me more of an oolong than a green. The aftertaste brings it back to a nice sophisticated green tea, similar to a green tea bread. It has no bitterness or astringency.

This tea is really growing on me. At first I didn’t think that hibiscus and chocolate would work, but the sip opens up with the tartness of the orange and hibiscus and finishes with the nice, roasted sweetness of the cocoa.
