So I made this tea this morning to start the day, and crack into the Spring Collection (I did try Copabanana last night…tasting coming). I opted for it because it was a black, I didn’t want to make the Coconut Oolong when I couldn’t re-steep the leaves at work. I had also tried the Honeydew Mate in store yesterday, which left this tea and Daydreamer, and I was nervous about rushing too much this morning to make a green tea. Same thoughts on Coco Lemon Thai too, though I am steeping some now.
Anyhow, back to Pom Tango…
It smells really good in the bag. I tried to scoop out a decent mix of the leaf and fruit, though this is a fruit heavy black tea. The liquor was pale for a black tea, I guess from the fruit ratio. I opted to only sweeten this with sugar, and less than I normally use, but no milk. I am usually a milk and sugar with all black tea, but this one seemed like it might be odd with milk.
Interestingly, as it cooled, I picked up a floral note. I’m not terribly sure where that even came from. The tea does have a tart juicy taste, yet sweet, and like I said, slightly floral. This tea reminds me of Cranberry Pear or Cheeky Lychee.
I’m a bit on the fence with this one. I do like it, despite the floral notes, which are usually a killer for me, but I can’t say I love it at this point. I have a little more to try from my 15g bag.
I’m a fan of this one iced.
I thought of Cranberry Pear too when I was at the store. I also like this one iced.
