Ok, can I say…YUM?

Firstly, it smells awesome and yummy, and that’s hard for me to say, because I usually dislike anything with rooibos. There is that certain unpleasantness…I think rooibos is a love it or hate it tea. I really only like it when it isn’t so bold, and takes a backseat in flavour…or basically if I can’t taste it. There are very few blends that I am ok with.

Anyhow, taste? I figure I should get to that. As Daisy says “Yes. Amaretto in tea form.”

I love amaretto. I LOVE AMARETTO!!

Funnily enough, when I first tasted the tea, I knew I liked it, but I couldn’t peg my finger on the taste or why I liked it until I reread the tastings here and saw the mention of amaretto and then I made the connection. I was like, “Aha! This is it! It’s all the almonds! That’s what I’m tasting!”

I am not sure I get the fruit punch flavour, but perhaps that comes out with a second steep? It doesn’t matter though, because I love the almond flavour, and that’s all I care about.

I think this is a tea I can get more of! It is something I will feel comfortable with drinking later in the evenings when I want something without caffeine.

I really didn’t think I’d like this tea, but I do!

I think the fruit punch thing may have mostly been my boyfriend and I, and whoever named this tea? Odd! I find it nutty but not as almondy as everyone else does. But, I’m not entirely familiar with Amaretto (I actually thought I didn’t like it) so I wouldn’t be able to draw that comparison.

At one point I did taste a very apple cider sort of note, but it warmed into the amaretto smoothness and ahhhh.…

Yay I am SO glad you like this one! eee!

Yes! I’m so pleased to have a rooibos I like! :) I honestly wasn’t expecting to like it because of the rooibos, but I smelled it and I said I’d give it a try. Especially after reading about it here on steepster.

I generally like a lot of tea. I do find I have a preference for flavored over unflavoured, but I do love a good straight tea as well.

Likes are too hard, since there are a lot. Dislikes are easier, so here they are…

Hibiscus. Blech. I can tolerate a little, depending on the brew, like Berry Good from Davids and Ruby Pie from Butiki…but in general, it’s too tart and too strong for me.

Licorice. Anything that remotely resembles licorice is out too, so that includes fennel and anise. Yuck, yuck, yuck.

Florals. I’m cool with petals in the tea to make them look pretty (except rose), and I’m cool with teas like oolongs having a floral note, but strong florals can give me migraines. Rose and jasmine are the biggest offenders. This is one where it can vary on the blend, as I can handle Teavivre’s Peach Jasmine Dragon Pearl tea because there is very little jasmine actually detectable in it.

Rooibos is hit or miss. I can do some, but not others. I handle green better than red, and honeybush better than rooibos.

My ratings don’t have a particular scale or method, and may on occasion contradict themselves, but I’m honestly not fussed about that. Sometimes I don’t even rate at all.

Um, I have an extensive wishlist. It is both a list of things I want to get again, and things I want to try. If you are sending me something, and you want to know which is which, I’ll tell you via PM.

Yes, I do trades…usually on request though. See something you want to try in my cupboard? Just shoot me a message and I’ll see what I can do!

Uh, guess that’s it.
