761 Tasting Notes
I think I may have had this as a tea to go once, when it first came out, but I couldn’t remember (and I don’t seem to have a tasting note for this) so I asked ShayneBear for a sample of this, with the other cake teas.
Yeah, it’s pretty artificial, but it is pretty darn tasty.
So I woke up with a headache today, and it was foggy out, and the construction across the street was loud (it always is, but on my days off, I have to deal with it more). As a result, I figured now was the time to try it. It smelled warm and heavy and just the thing I needed.
Brewed, I was reminded why I love pu erh. So dark and rich and full…that’s what pu erh is a common winter tea for me. It’s got body.
The taste isn’t my favourite..probably because of the orange peel (it’s one of those I like it in some combinations but not all combinations). The cinnamon was mild enough and not super hot. I’ll tell you what this tea made me think of…a pu erh based chai. Like Saigon Chai with pu erh base. That’s something I can get behind. I should get more Saigon Chai. Been too long without it.
Anyway, I do like this blend, but it isn’t a favourite. I’d pick Chocolate Orange (Oh Christmas Treat) over this any day. Many thanks to Shayne Bear for the sample. I’m sure I will drink the rest of this.
A puerh chai would be amazing, actually. And there’s a tea shop in North Vancouver that apparently does custom blends. I wonder if they’ve ever done anything like that!
Zen tea has a Pu-erh chai, it isn’t exactly traditional as it has cocoa and coconut, but it may be worth trying if you’re interested.

I am a total novice to straight white teas, so I don’t know how I will properly review it. But here goes.
The leaves are quite long and lofty, and covered in a fine fuzz, and they are really beautiful! I’m not sure how to describe the scent, but it smells fresh and clean.
I may have under-steeped this one since it is extremely mild, but it is still quite hot to take a better sip. I’ll try to go more into detail when it is a little cooler and I can try to pick out other notes.
Thanks to Angel at Teavivre for the generous sample for review.
It’s tasty, but not really caramelly. More orange spice tasting, with sweetness from the mulberries, but not caramel sweetness.
I’m glad I have a sample of this. It is nice and warming and I think it will be excellent for lattes.
Thanks for the generous sample, ShayneBear.
you’re very welcome! I really don’t understand why they named it Caramel Spice. It’s not really that spicey (I find Glitter and Gold to be way spicier, and even that’s pretty mild), and it’s definitely not caramel. Still tasty, and I’m a bit bummed it’s been discontinued. But I wonder if adding mulberries to G&G will make a mock-up of it? hmm..
Yum! Smelled like honeyed sweet potatoes it was straining into my mug! Upon first sip, I got the honeyed grass, with a little bit of a sweet finish. I did add sugar and milk after my initial sips, but it is still really tasty! Thanks for ShayneBear sharing a generous sample.
This is one of the new teas from Teavivre that is flavoured, but not a straight floral flavour. I was a little weary of this one because of my sensitivity to florals, but I was assured that the jasmine was understated in this blend so I opted to give it a try in addition to the Strawberry Oolong.
The dry leaf of this is tightly rolled in dragon pearl fashion, and smells so so so fragrant like peach nectar.
Steeped, the brew is less intense juicy peach, but rather subtle juicy peach. Any hint of jasmine is blended into the background with the green tea base and is not really distinguishable individually.
I suspect I will get a few nice cups from the leaves, and moreover, I think that this will make a really good cold steep and bring the peach out more in the same way it does for the strawberry in the Strawberry Oolong.
Many grateful thanks to Angel at Teavivre for encouraging me to try this one, even though the jasmine scared me.
Boy is this tea ever yummy! And forgiving too. I forgot about my water and it probably was a little too cool, then I forgot it was steeping, and it steeped longer than normal, but…it was still FANTASTIC!
I <3 this tea.
Much thanks, once again, to Angel at Teavivre for sending a sample.
