I brewed this up at work today. It was an exciting moment for me!!! until I realized that the tea, well it wasn’t doing anything in the cup! I ended up with chocolate water :(
Even with milk and sugar… bleh!
It looks like there is enough in my package to try again. Here’s hoping that whatever went wrong wasn’t with the tea!
Comments
@Scott – I can totally see myself doing that! I’m shocked I haven’t yet, actually.
@Indigo – “Wasn’t doing anything”? Like, it didn’t expand or anything? O.o
Scott Bee: Ha!! this is true. I have to wonder if I somehow underleafed the cup. Tho I measure it out carefully :(
Daniel Scott: Kindof! I dunno, after making tea for so long… it’s like I have an instinct for when it’s ready (except with rooibos, I can never tell with rooibos)
@Scott Bee – Totally lolled at that :D
@Indigobloom – I had high hopes for this tea! The description sounded so tasty! Really hoping it’s good when I get around to trying it…
I think I’ll go back to the shop and let them know. Hopefully I’ll get another sample and see if it brews any better!
I do the empty infuser basket at least once a month! I’m waiting for the day when I put cumin on my oatmeal instead of cinnamon.
LOL @ Scott: nuthin wrong with a little air tea, clears out the system I’ll bet. and I’ve mistakenly put salt in my tea before. The packaging was bare and I was tired…
I was not wowed by this one either. It was cloudy and tasted like I threatened the water with chocolate and a teeny bit of tea. Ice Cream Cake wasn’t any better to me.
Cumin… not my fave spice on anything, let alone in tea!
Cattibrie- so I’m not the only one! sorry to hear, but then atleast I am not alone!
Huh! I had an ex-coworker come by work yesterday (he used to be a keyholder, but got transferred to another mall which has a DAVIDs in it), and he had this one and let me rip the bag open and smell. Smelled GOOD, like genuine chocolate smell! So weird if it’s a dud, DT’s other chocolate teas don’t smell as…chocolate-y.
Hmm. Well, it can’t be worse than brewing an empty infuser basket in hot water for 5 minutes!

Cumin on oatmeal definitely sounds less than appealing…

I dunno, I think it just needs a little more leaf in the steeper. I’ll try it with less water next time. We shall see :)
and I agree, it does smell like chocolate, but has that fake scent to it as well
