used 2 tsp for 8 oz as directed. Dry blend smells like all good tropical things. Couldn’t taste much when hot – expcept my tongue kept detecting a hint of “mint” even though I don’t think there’s any in there.

Chilled the mug and came back to it later. This time the coconut jumped right out, but the rest of the fruits seemed muddled. And I was still getting a hint of mint. Then again, papaya is a weird flavor for me. I think this is a good tea, from everybody’s notes. I just need to play with it more, and try to make sense of what my tongue is telling me. Sometimes my taste buds just have an off day, and I think this was one of those times, so I’m holding off rating.

first order of business is to try my water 5-10 degrees hotter next time

Well, from what I can gather, it seems like you had a tropical explosion. Some teas are just so complicated that it’s better to not try to understand and just enjoy it.

I think it was more of an implosion, but I think it was the fault of my brewing/tastebuds, not the tea itself. I think I established that I like it better iced than hot, but that’s all I got out of my first go-round. Looking forward to trying again though, and very thankful to have won this from Frank’s e-mail contest :-)

Hiding under a warm blanket until Spring. Just bring me hot tea and dark chocolate at regular intervals!
