172 Tasting Notes
Pulled this one from the wrapper and immediately got a whiff of peppermint. It is minty but a bit oily as well. We’ve been suffering from Spring Allergies here and this was a comforting tea to sip while the sinuses struggled. I don’t think it will be an every day tea but it’s definitely a good one for when feeling not 100%.
Flavors: Herbal, Peppermint

Hot Cross Buns are in the grocery store now and it reminded me that I received a packet of this from a friend. In our region they show up when Lent begins until Good Friday. I don’t recommend drinking this along with a Hot Cross Bun because your brain gets all muddled with flavors. On it’s own, it does indeed reflect a bun. There’s a bready/yeasty flavor along with candied citrus.
I was digging through the cabinet for something soothing. I’m already pretty weary this evening, so I’m hoping for a solid night sleep. I think I’ve been mixed up since DST.
This one reminds me of Traditional Medicinal Throat Coat but not as good. The licorice seems to hit me first and then the spearmint and cinnamon. It’s a rather sweet tea (Hi there, Stevia) and I don’t think adding anything more would improve it.
Flavors: Licorice, Spearmint

I had 2 boxes of Celestial Seasonings in the cabinet and grabbed the wrong one. I had preferred this over the regular Sleepytime tea but tonight’s mug is not exactly inspiring. Pretty sure it’s because my mouth is sore from my dog headbutting me and causing a cut lip. It’s very sensitive, especially to heat.
Pushing through the sensitivity, this tea is pretty much as advertised. Creamy vanilla with spearmint and chamomile. I’ve enjoyed drinking this in the evenings throughout winter. It’s even better with a smidge of honey and cooling a bit. Pretty good for a grocery store tea.
Flavors: Chamomile, Spearmint, Vanilla
I’m not a big believer in health claims like this one. Hydration will usually add to a healthy glow. Pretty sure this was from an office tea stash that wandered home with me. My office mate was a huge believer in various herbal supplement claims.
It’s quite floral and I only taste the rose and hibiscus. I rather enjoy it. The aroma and taste match, which hasn’t been the case lately. There is a sweetness to it (probably the stevia) and I found no need for additives to make the tea more palatable for me. Would I drink this 3-4 times a day, every day as recommended? Probably not, so I doubt I’ll see the skin benefits it claims to have. But if this was on sale at the market while shopping, I’d probably pick up a box.
Flavors: Floral, Hibiscus, Rose

This one is too tart for my liking. The pomegranate seems to overpower the strawberry. I see lots of recommendations for cold brewing and regret not reading tasting notes before making this. I followed the package directions to the T and find they failed me.
Flavors: Pomegranate, Sour, Tart

Ohhhh I like this one. I tend to drink a chamomile tea in the evening to calm before bed. It’s been a bad few nights of sleep, so I hope this mug will calm me some. The tea leaves look so pretty. The lavender is strong here so much so that I can’t identify some of the herbal components. I do taste the rose and maybe the lemon verbena. There is a tartness/sour to it. The floral scent isn’t too overpowering. I don’t think this could be an “every night” tea for me because I could see tiring of the lavender quickly but I definitely would purchase this again.

It’s March, so tea reflecting Ireland seems appropriate. I’m not a coffee fan at all. I try but I just don’t find it enjoyable to drink. I was worried that the coffee beans in this would put it in the “absolutely not” category. However, I like this blend well enough. Pretty sure that’s because my expectations were to really dislike the tea. It’s earthy and creamy. I definitely taste the coffee and cocoa. I remember passing off my first mug of this to the Mister, who does love coffee. I was thinking about passing this one off as well.
Flavors: Cocoa, Coffee, Earthy

I’ve had this one in my cabinet for a loooong time. At least after my youngest was born for it’s healing benefits. I remember really disliking it then and not finding much in the way of health benefits. I decided it was time to get it out of the cabinet. Maybe it’s because I didn’t follow the suggestions for steeping on the box, but it’s not bad. Today I used a lower water temp (195F) and steeped for 3:30.
I seem to remember it having a mushroom like quality, but memory is a foggy thing. It has a leafy taste and reminds me of a sweet black tea.
Flavors: Dry Grass, Dry Leaves

Best tea of the day so far. I really enjoyed the citrusy blend with the lavender. There’s a creaminess to it that reminds me of a nice lemon sherbet I had once. It’s been a stress filled couple of weeks for me due to volunteer roles I’ve taken on combined with my regular work stress. So sleep hasn’t been very easy. I’m hoping that this will help chill me out a bit this evening and I’ll catch a few good blinks.
Flavors: Citrus, Creamy, Lavender, Lemon Zest
