162 Tasting Notes
A big mug of this to start my Monday morning. I’m not too keen on black teas but I can tolerate this one because of the strawberry flavoring. Now that I think of it, most of the black teas I do drink have some flavor to them. I taste the strawberry more in the aftertaste which is fine. I let it steep for 5 minutes when I normally do 4, so it is slightly stronger than I like.
First time trying this tea. I am using a gaiwan and short steeping times to experiment. It is quite aromatic and tastes sweet and floral. Yet it has a slight acidic bite to it that makes it interesting. The taste lingers in my mouth for a good while after finishing the cup. I have done 3 infusions so far and will continue until I can’t get any more out of the leaves.
Prepared this with warmed vanilla soy milk and agave nectar. Has a really interesting taste. A chai with an unexpected rooibos twist. The blend of spices and rooibos is perfect. They don’t compete or overpower each other. Keep meaning to order more of this since I drink it often in the evenings due to being caffeine free.
I had this tea with breakfast. My dad brought me back several boxes of tea from Paris, France including this one. Good, basic Ceylon tea. Love it with breakfast and have no idea where to get this in the states. I’m also not too fond of black teas but do really enjoy this one.
