292 Tasting Notes
I was eagerly anticipating this tea, especially since Courtney enjoyed it so much. She sent me enough for a couple cups, and I wanted to make sure to have it on an afternoon at home, so I could fully enjoy multiple steepings.
The second was my favorite. So creamy and sweet and nutty, with a lovely floral-y oolong flavor. The oolong and coconut complement each other very well. Yum!
Preparation
Mmmmmm, Guayusa…
I mixed some this morning with a bit of Perfect Pear, since I have almost a half-tin of that left and I really didn’t care for it when I tried it. I thought it might work with the guayusa, though, since the grassy, earthy taste might cut out a bit of the artificial sweetness that I dislike about Perfect Pear.
I was quite right! It’s lovely.
Preparation
Oof, this is really good. Thanks for sharing, Courtney!
I like ginger and lemongrass, and I love lemon and coconut, so I was excited about this one. It’s very good hot, but I am excited to try it cold, too. I am thinking that I will probably need some more of this, as I only have enough left for one more cup, but I’m not sure if I need an entire 50g bag. It’s expensive, and I feel like I might get sick of these flavors quite quickly.
I will reserve judgment on that until I’ve tried it cold, however.
Preparation
I might need more of this.
I’m a bit surprised, because I don’t like mango, but I think the bit of pomegranate tartness makes it more palatable for me. Maybe? Or else the blend of mango and black tea is good enough that I don’t care. Hah!
Either way, it’s definitely enjoyable. I had two cups hot and put the second steep in the fridge, and I have already sampled it cold. Yum. I am so looking forward to drinking that jar when I have a bit more time.
EDIT: I should also note that I got a sample of this tea (and the rest of the DavidsTea spring collection) thanks to the ever-wonderful Courtney, who is probably way too good to me! She is fantastic.
Preparation
This one is tricky, because cider is an evening drink for me, and guayusa is something I prefer to drink earlier in the day. It was difficult for me to choose this one as a morning tea, but I did today.
The cider spices work so well with the earthy guayusa, and the apple bits are just the perfect amount of sweet. I had my first cup without the brown sugar, but added it for the second infusion. Delicious either way. I don’t like this one as much as Good Morning Sunshine or my favorite, The Killer’s Vanilla, but it’s still quite delicious.
Preparation
Courtney ordered this one, and before I sent it to her, she let me give myself enough for a sample. She is awesome. I only took enough for one cup, but that might not be enough.
This has such a light peach taste that works very well with the flavor of the oolong. I like that Stacy’s flavored oolongs have this subtle hint of fruitiness, so the actual taste of the tea still shines through. This is quite yummy.
I’m finishing up my second steep now, and I definitely prefer it hot. My first cup cooled off quite a bit while I was busy doing other things, and I like this warm so much better.
Preparation
I slept in a bit this morning, and was craving mate when I woke up. And since it wasn’t super early, I decided to give this one a try.
Courtney sent me a sample of it a while ago, but I never found the right time to have it. Too early in the morning, and I don’t want chocolate. Too late in the day, and I don’t want mate. But it worked this morning, and I am quite glad.
I love the cocoa / cinnamon combination, it’s reminding me a lot of apple cider. The first steep was very flavorful, and even though the second steep is a bit watered down, I might like it a little better. I don’t think it will hold up to a third infusion, though… it’s so powdery, it seems like everything dissolves pretty quickly.
Very tasty, though!
Preparation
I got about three cups worth of this discontinued tea from QueenOfTarts, and I am so disappointed that I can’t order more.
It is such a delicious, warm vanilla taste, it makes the perfect before bed treat. I steeped this one three times and put one jar in the fridge to try cold… and after discussing vanilla teas a bit with Stacy, I added a pinch of coconut to my third steep. Gaaaaaaah.
I am going to miss this one after my next two cups. Sigh.
I’m so glad you liked it! It was definitely my favourite of the spring collection.
