292 Tasting Notes
This is a very warm and cozy cinnamon honeybush. I think if it wasn’t called ‘Cinnamon Roll’ with the promise of some kind of delightful baked-good flavor, I would have really enjoyed it.
As it is, I’m drinking it and wishing I could taste more than just woodsy cinnamon. It’s yummy, especially the second steep, but I definitely don’t taste anything ‘roll’-y about it.
Thanks for sending it my way, Stephanie! I am so glad I got to try more honeybush blends. :D
Preparation
Okay, so I feel pretty much the same way about this one that I do about Blueberry Crumble. Delicious cake-y flavor, but not so much fruit.
I don’t really care, though. I’m not that picky. It’s buttery and smooth and not too sweet, it’s a yummy tea.
Off to prepare a second steep!
Preparation
Mmmmm, this is so good.
Creamy and lightly minty and just… delicious. I am SO looking forward to trying Graveyard Mist, because if this is good, I imagine GM will be amazing.
Hurry up, mail! Dammit!
I had this again last night, for the first time after leaving it out overnight in my closet. I don’t know if it made as much a difference for this one as it did for Marshmallow Treat, or if it’s just that I’m not a huge fan of the cacao nibs or something. I do enjoy drinking this one, though, but mostly because I love the roastiness of the genmaicha.
Preparation
I definitely think I prefer honeybush to rooibos.
A couple weeks ago, I blended up my own Pina Colada tea – Coconut Oolong, Pineapple Oolong, and Buttered Rum. This has that same kind of flavor, but with an extra warm woodiness from the honeybush. It’s quite lovely!
Also, it’s caffeine-free… which my blend definitely was not. Hahaha! Thanks for sharing, Stephanie! This is yummy. I’m going to go have another cup.
Preparation
Sigh.
These Della Terra black teas all taste very similar to me. In fact, this one could almost even be DavidsTea’s Glitter & Gold… but I think G&G is more vanilla-y, and I prefer the black tea base in that one.
Anyway. I still have enough for quite a few more cups of Oatmeal Raisin Cookie, and it is one that I do enjoy taking to work because it still tastes good in my travel mug.
Preparation
I got this one today, in a swap from irishgirlieknits. I panicked a bit, when I saw it. Totally not expecting peppercorns in this blend, and all I could smell from the bag was chai. It really threw me off.
I brewed it up anyway, and anxiously waited while it steeped. I didn’t see brewing instructions anywhere, so I tried a four minute infusion.
I tasted caramel from the very first sip. So good! And there’s a bit of heat, from the peppercorns, that gives this herbal tea a bit more depth than I had anticipated. The caramel flavor got more intense as the tea cooled, and I am just sitting down for a second steep now. I am really looking forward to drinking the rest of this sample, and could see myself ordering this in the future. It’s nice to have a delicious, caffeine-free evening treat.
Preparation
It is very good! I would really like to try a third steep, because the second one was still excellent, but… the thought of cold-brewing these leaves is tempting, also. Gah, decisions!
I like this one but I didn’t taste any sea salt in the mix. The caramel taste was really good especially for an herbal blend though.
Yes, the fact that this one is an herbal totally impresses me. I don’t get much of a sea salt flavor, either, but I’m still loving the taste of the caramel.
This was my penultimate mug of Love In A Cup.
For a caramel marshmallow black, it is very well done. It’s a bit on the excessively sweet side for me, definitely not something I could ever drink regularly, but it’s a very nice dessert-y treat.
Not on my reorder list, but not a bad tea.
Preparation
Still on a mission to drink more honey to get rid of this dang sore throat. So I mixed a giant glob of honey with my hot water and matcha today, and it tasted like a big jar of somewhat grassy caramel syrup.
It was a bit overwhelming for me, but lots of honey and delicious matcha, yum!
Haha! Awesome review.
Okay… Steepster must have eaten my comment.
I was saying that I could elaborate on how minty and creamy and smooth and delicious this is, but I’m pretty sure I’ve already posted that, and this is really all that needs to be said. Yum.
