This smells almost exactly like peach gummy rings!

The taste is less artificial than drinking a peach gummy ring, but the idea is the same. This came in my 8 days of Chanukah gift set and my husband had also picked me up a small bag to try on his recent trip. I’m enjoying the cup, but I’ve strayed a little from fruity teas with the colder weather. It reminds me that I need to break out my fruity whites and oolongs again!

I never had an interest in this one and then I read someone saying how it was like Fuzzy Peaches and that peaked my interest. Now you have a similar sentiment so I think I will have to try some of this.

drank Kanpe Tea by DAVIDsTEA

I was so scared to try this tea, I had putting it off for months really. But given my not negative reaction to Davidstea Sleigh Ride, I figured I’d give it a shot. To me, this tastes like some sort of warm cherry juice with a underlying faint taste of banana (it tastes a bit better than my description for the record). I bet this would delicious iced.

I used 2 tsp in my 16oz steeping mug.

LOL I LOVE Kanpe. To each their own, but yes it is good iced. I like it with a Chinese green base (two tsp green and two tsp Kanpe – 3 cups water) either hot or iced…

Sipdown!

Yup, it was that fast, though I didn’t post a couple tasting notes of this tea/tisane. It lasted less than a week. See previous note for my thoughts.

This came from a swap with KallieBoo!

I put off trying this for awhile as I have noticed that the Adagio black tea base isn’t my favorite. For this reason, I made sure I steeped for a short amount of time. This has a orange creamsicle scent and taste but it’s very light. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would but I don’t think it warrants a purchase.

I managed to get two steeps worth of the leaves so I have another couple of teaspoons for another cup. I used 2 in my 16oz steeping mug and added sweetener.

This is another tea my husband brought home for me. Wow, this is heavy and wow they recommend 2 tsp per cup (I used 3 heaping teaspoons in my 16oz steeping mug)?! I steeped for a full 7 minutes and I added sweetener.

This reminds me a lot of Tiesta Teas Nutty Almond Cream, except this isn’t as almond and creamy and it has a hint of tartness from the hibiscus. It actually smells nearly identical too which is interesting. I prefer the Tiesta Teas for taste and price too (Sleigh Ride is $7.50 for 1.76oz and Nutty Almond Cream is $10.99 for 4oz – though thanks to BF I paid $5.50).

I’ll certainly use up the 26gram bag but unless they put this on major clearance after the holidays are over, I won’t be repurchasing.

It is quite expensive when you consider how much is actually needed!

It says to prepare this in boiling water but I erred on the side of caution and used 195 which is still a bit high compared to other oolong instructions. This is pleasant. It isn’t super flavored, but it’s a dark oolong with a bit of vanilla flavoring. I added sweetener which helped. It’s neither amazing nor awful but I’m glad I only got a sample. I have a bit more to experiment with the temperature and steeping time.

drank Banana Split by Tiesta Tea
343 tasting notes

I am a huge fan of bananas (fresh, artificial – a favorite is banana laffy taffy mmmm) so when I saw that Tiesta had a banana flavored tea, I quickly snatched it up during their Black Friday promotion.

In the bag it smells wonderful. I wish I could say it blew my socks off steeped, but there is so much rooibos in this blend, that that’s pretty much all you can smell after it’s done brewing, and that usually isn’t a good sign before tasting it. After it cools, the banana flavor is more evident, but it’s still rather weak (and I added sweetener).

I’m thankful that I only ordered the (ok not so small) pouch. It’s not bad by any means, but I was expecting more. I think it’d be better without the rooibos (and something tells me it was used as an inexpensive filler but I hope I’m wrong?).

It must be noted that I just ate lunch. I will try again when I haven’t eaten flavorful things just to be sure my tongue wasn’t playing tricks on me.

My brother got me the Chanukah gift set from Davidstea this year and I think this one was the tea I was most excited to try as I have been on a major earl grey cream kick ever since trying the Argo version (which is lovely).

It recommends a 3-5 minute steep, but I tend to be cautious with black teas of any sort so I did 3. This one is less creamy than the Argo version. I think I prefer that one just a bit, but then again, this tastes more like tea, so if that’s more your thing, you’d probably like this one more.

I may have bought several different earl grey cream varieties with the black friday sales but shhh, no need to tell anyone.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve had a cup of this but due to the Black Friday sales, I’ve made an effort to drink some of my old tea (which for me is May of this year).

This is a nice light blend which reminds me of white grapes and honeysuckles. It’s sweet and soothing, which is fine since I can’t go anywhere due to the weather! Though I probably should do some laundry…

So I made a huge order from Tiesta Tea during the 50% off Black Friday promotion. Most of my order was their smaller sized bags, but for this and a few select others, I opted for the 4oz tin (not like this is a review of the tin but the tin happens to be pretty nice). I’ve been really into creamy teas lately and this one really hits the spot. It’s a bit strange since it looks like you are drinking pink lemonade but it tastes nutty and creamy with a hint of fruit (likely coming from the apple).

Around the edge of my mouth I’m getting a bit of a sour taste probably from the beetroot but it’s not off-putting. I added sweetener, so I imagine it would be more present without.

Happy with this part of my purchase!

Profile

Bio

I recently discovered loose leaf tea and am already addicted (much to my husband’s dismay)! I prefer fruity teas iced and savory teas hot. Looking forward to drinking and chatting.

Some likes/dislikes I’ve been noticing:

Likes:
Pineapple
Jasmine
Fruity White Teas
lighters Blacks
Most Oolongs (especially greener varieties)
dessert teas
tisanes iced that don’t require added sweetener

Dislikes:
Spicy flavors unless in chai
astringent black teas
heavy ginger teas
teas with licorice (as primary ingredients – somehow I like some where the licorice is in the back drop)
heavily oxidized oolongs

For my own reference, I’m only placing “full size” teas in my cupboard.
