6 Tasting Notes

The Vanilla and Jasmine are very forward in the flavour profile of this tea. It smells lovely, very citrusy. The taste is smooth and very pleasant as well.

Make sure to use plenty of tea, otherwise it can be slightly insipid. It can stand up to oversteeping without going bitter – which is helpful for absentminded tea brewers like me.

Exactly what you’d expect from an Earl Grey. It’s got a but of an unusual…. smokiness? That’s not expected. The bergamont is not as strong as some Earl Grey’s I’ve had. I’d chose this any day over Twinings, but I prefer Mighty Leaf’s version.

At first glance a pretty standard Earl Grey, but the lovely aftertaste and aroma of Jasmine sets it apart. It’s very bergamonty, meaning it’s somewhat on the bitter side, but I happen to really enjoy that. A touch of sweetness offsets the bitter and rounds out the flavour of this tea. This is my go-to earl grey.

This is a classic English Breakfast-type tea. Pretty standard flavour profile, but with the robust boldness you only get with whole leaf teas. If you’re trying to introduce someone to high quality black teas, this is one to start with.

Don’t oversteep (4 min tops) or it goes quite bitter. If you want it stronger, use more tea.

Very disappointing. The Acai Black tea is fantastic, I thought this would be a comparable but decaf tea. How wrong I was. It has none of the nice fruity bouquet of the caffeinated version, and has an unpleasant bitterness to it, yet manages to be somewhat flavourless. All in all not a good tea. Stick to the caffeinated version.

The Acai berry really cuts through and gives this tea a fantastic fruity bouquet. It’s probably my favourite tea right now. Needs no sugar or milk.
