Dreadfully cold outside..
Time for a review.

Smell wise: Ayurvedic, Strong and robust cinnamon, ginger there and a whisper of coconut. Am worried it won’t be a true Chai but the smell is nice and white Chai teas are rare.

Once brewed in my perfect Breville: Smells become so beautifully balanced ..everything fits.

As for taste: Surprisingly delicate, Cinnamon kisses, warming ginger,. Still not a Chai…

If you want a true Chai …this is not it. Lovely way to start the day though. Or end a very very cold day. Do wish it was a little less delicate.

Perfect for the cinnamon shy and people coming into or going out in the winter cold .

I’ll finish the bag but not sure about it being a staple. My partner likes it though.

Flavors: Cinnamon, Cloves, Coconut, Peppercorn

Yesterday was back to work for yours truly. There were stressful bits and good bits..but I’m tired and am glad I do not work again until Friday and get to stay home today while it is raining and gray outside.

Wanted to try the last of the new Winter teas from DT and am looking forward to this one.

It smells like chocolate/cocoa dark mostly..but the hazelnut wisps..that grabs me.Smells like Dark Hot chocolate ALMOST..it’s a long way from a boring cup of cocoa..I can tell.

My one touch Breville machine has just alerted me my steep is done. Let’s see if this one’s a winner of a position of tea prominence in my collection or tea to give away.

Now I don’t mind artificial flavor and tend to enjoy my flavored teas as much as the ones never touched by anything except sunshine and the hands of god. I don’t complain about it..It’s 2014 and dammit there are SO MANY CHOICES ..no point in being bitter( see what I did there?)
On to the tea!

it smells, once brewed VERY nutty and gently sweet.

Taste is interesting..there is a bit of a almost Splenda like aftertaste?? I don’t mind artificial tastes as I’ve pointed out but I’ve NEVER experienced one that TASTED like a sweetener MOSTLY and I hate HATE Splenda and this it tastes like robot . Now that is odd.I hate sweeteners that overwhelm the tea and this has done that tenfold. The whole point of me not sweetening my tea for the last 3 years and learning to let the tea speak not the sugar is to make it an experience not cheapen the hell out of a ‘could have been decent, but they tried too hard tea’. I mean if you LOVE splenda and sweeteners this tea will be GREAT for you.

First MAJOR disappointment of 2014.
ONLY GET THIS TEA IF YOU LIKE SPLENDA AND SWEETEN EVRYTHING. you’ve been warned.Lots of DT as artificial..but they’ve never sweetened in this obscene manner..color me totally disappointed and about to dump out an entire 3 cups ..wow DT…I can’t believe it.
I can’t get rid of the Splenda aftertaste….what a disaster.

After all these less then glowing reviews I’m rather apprehensive. Here goes. It smells like the red velvet cake tea( which I Adore) dry and brewed. I doubt I can love it as much though.
More of a good thing I can always handle.

Well it is a poor man’s Red Velvet Cake at best. At worst just mediocre cake inspired tea ( sorry DT!)
Can’t all be winners. there was potential but it seems uninspired and like they needed a rushed idea.
Not unlikable just not even a shade as good as some of the
other entries in the Winter collection.

So woke up today felt a little under the weather…phlegm and sinus uncomfortably as well as a slight feeling of something in my lung so I’m finally drinking a wellness white tea using my Breville one touch tea maker…I want to make babies with it…anyways…I digress.

I’ve always been scared of wellness teas but DT does good flavour in a wellness tea so it doesn’t take like dirt or worse. Also I can mix them with good results.

Dry it smells nice, sort of nutty with a light touch of something creamy and sweet. I smell cocoa and a tinge of berry. Smells great for a wellness tea.

As for taste it is warming and nutty with a little creaminess. Doesn’t taste like a traditional wellness tea but is frankly not much to write home about but I’m drinking it for the effect not the flavour. I will hold off a number rating until I can tell if it helps. I do like the warming sensation but I almost feel like mint should have been involved in some way. I’ll rate on flavor but if I get miraculously better you’ll see my number change and it will become a staple.

Let’s hope this helps since I’m back at work.

Once brewed it smells nutty, rich and a lovely base of white bai mu dan tea.

So I’m back! I went through 7 hours of surgery to remove most ..almost all of my brain tumor..no Ill effects except healing and a badass scar! Pretty much grateful to have survived and had the best care possible. My surgeon says I may never have to deal with it again ..knock on wood! So of course my friends and family spoiled me …with tea and the Breville tea maker!!!!! Oh yes it is as amazing as it sounds!

On to the tea!
Love the winter collection so far. Gingerbread being the clear winner of the year I think.

I love peppermint and white chocolate so the smell of this just makes me drool. It is cool and sweet smelling. Peppermint with a sexy layer of white chocolate just beautifully encasing it. As my gorgeous Breville perfectly brews it the smell is just wonderful. That is what Christmas smells like. Should smell like.

Once brewed it smells more minty. Peppermint pretty much owning the stage. Im hoping it doesn’t turn into an ordinary peppermint tea because that would be terribly boring and disappointing. As the brew cools the chocolate becomes lovely apparent again.

As for taste it is like an adult peppermint tea. Solid peppermint that warms you entirely then a wave of sweet sensual white chocolate and cooling texture. Beautifully balanced. Superior peppermint tea. No overwhelming peppermint. Bold yet soft. If you like peppermint with restraint like I do then this is right up your alley.

Perfect for winter, Christmas and people who love mint with chocolate.
I will thoroughly enjoy my stash this winter. Not necessarily a staple but worthy of getting a small stash to survive the holidays. Way better then ordinary peppermint tea which I tend to avoid.

Glad to hear you are doing well. I will keep happy thoughts for you that your surgeon is right.
My son loved this tea when we got it in the advent calendar. I think he was more excited to open it than I was. I can’t say I remember much about it other than that though.
