After buying 100g of this one (because I thought it was going away forever, lies), I ended up becoming less and less fond of it as time passed. Although the 50g bag I have at home is nearly empty, that’s only because I keep sending it off in swaps! The bag at work is unopened.
Anyways, I was poking around for teas to ice the other day, and found this and Swampwater and figured it was worth a shot. Turns out I made a great decision (at least with this one!) I suppose technically it wasn’t cold-brewed, as I did mix a generous 3 tsp of tea with hot (boiling-ish) water and let it sit for a little while (between 1-2 minutes) before mixing topping it up to a bit less than 2 cups of water and sticking it in the fridge overnight. The result is pretty delicious and reminds me why I enjoyed this tea in the first place.
First off, the flavour is strong, and I suspect I could even dilute the tea a bit and still enjoy it, but rooibos is still lighter than herbals, so I’m not too worried. It’s creamy and almondy and sweet enough that I wouldn’t want sugar in it, and… just so good. It’s going well with my post-run supper of steamed beans and tomatoes in lime/garlic. (Which is impressive because the lime and garlic, as I have mentioned previously, kind of kill my tastebuds!)
I hadn’t remembered my rating being quite so high for this one, but I’ll let it stand because iced, this is wicked!

I had this tea as a sample in the davidstea winter giftbox. It was so tasty and went perfectly with christmas stollen! I would always make it in my glass tumbler too so I could see the leaves floating around it was so pretty.
I made this up for my mom iced and she absolutely loved it! Carried the cup with her all night and drank my whole thing of iced tea. I was so happy =)
I never really thought to cold brew this before, but I am definitely gonna try that now!

Ahhhh, that is so cute!! I’m looking forward to brewing tea for my parents (aka mom), sister, and aunt/uncle while I’m on vacation. I hope I find a winner for someone!!
