This tea reminds me of a Roasted Almond tea I get from my local tea shop, except that is an herbal tea and this has oolong in it. They smell the same right out of the bag – warm and nutty with hints of spice. What I’ve always hated about that tea is how the apple will overcome the nuttiness, until all I taste is low calorie apple juice. I hoped this tea might be different.

As other comments have noted, it isn’t. The first sips are heady and spicy, with only a hint of apple. But the more you drink, the more the apple takes over from the nuts and spices. I don’t taste the orange that others do, but I would agree that the complexity really only comes out in the first few sips of the first brewing. Since it’s an oolong I rebrewed it 3 times, just to see how it comes out, but alas, it’s just more apple juice.

I like it, but I probably wouldn’t repurchase it.
