1473 Tasting Notes
This was one of my two morning cuppas. I make my hot tea two cups at a time because I drink it lukewarm and it can take forever to cool. I’m trying to do one sipdown and one standard so I’m not just focusing on one or the other. This is in the sipdown pile just because it’s a few years old and it just needs to be finished up. It’s very, very good, but not one I’m likely to restock, due to my issues with Harney and Sons a few years ago.
Anyway, this is one of my favorite breakfast teas, nice and strong with a gentle fruity note.
Wife brought this home for me last night, as I’m fighting off a rough cold. It’s…meh. Soothing, yes, but the flavor was so odd. Like a chai tea gone wrong. I like licorice, but this was a bit much. I’ll stick to bravissimo.
Also, you need to get thee to a Disney Store XD https://www.disneystore.com/plush-toys-swedish-chef-tsum-tsum-plush-the-muppets-mini-3-12/mp/1413799/1000267/ Saw one last week and thought of you!
HAHA! I was looking at the Star Wars ones and wasn’t quite impressed but Swedish Chef totally works for that style. Thanks! I should totally grab one. :)
Still sick, but felt up to a cup of non-medicinal tea this morning, my night meds still working. Last night, while picking up this year’s adorably spooky mug from DavidsTea, my wife also cashed in our three free 50g of tea. Blueberry Jam, Throat Rescue, and this, Supreme Pekoe.
It’s good! But it feels kinda flat to me. I keep taking another sip, expecting there to be more flavor. It’s just kinda one-note. When reaching for a straight black, I’ll keep my Nepal Black in stock, but I’m glad to have tried this one.
am sick.
cold 911 good.
It was either this one or throat rescue that was so good. I thought they could have given it another name and it would have worked. Had one as a sample. Then I tried it throat rescue as a cup made in store. So I have to try cold 911. What I liked was the flavour / spice.
Oh my goodness. I was not expecting to like this one as much as I do. I was craving a straight black tea this morning and instead of reaching for my usual Nepal Black, I reached for a sample in the sipdowns pile. There was SO MUCH LEAF in this little sample package. Definitely 2-3 cups worth. It has a metallic taste, kinda like licking a penny, but I don’t dislike it. It’s all good.
Imagine my heartbreak when I opened my tin of this and it smelled stale ; . ;. I made a cup anyway, hoping it was still good.
Brewed up, I smell the yummy spiciness of cinnamon and allspice. I get a hint of marshmallow with every sip.
But it’s stale. Not going to adjust the rating as the staleness is my fault for hoarding this tea obsessively. But I am going to move the tin to sipdowns and hope that my sealed bag lasted longer.
