Another from the Easter Tea Trail coldbrewed overnight and I am pleasantly surprised! I do get hints of chocolate raspberry, but I also still get banana. It’s weird. I love raspberry, but I don’t like chocolate, so this is just an okay brew for me. I do like it a lot more iced than I do cold, but I still think the rest of what I have of this tea will be winging to Nova Scotia for a friend who absolutely loves it.

This is a sipdown from the Easter Tea Trail and…yeah. I still don’t like lime gelato. Granted, I don’t like lime. It was okay, but nothing I’d search out again.

Plunkybug

I like this one, but primarily as a summer tea.

This was part of the Easter Tea Trail, so I dumped the whole little tin into my mason jar to coldbrew and it was lovely. Sweet and fruity and a treat after dinner. I’m glad I didn’t have to share it! It can be a little hibby, but agave smoothed that right out.

Honeybee, I love thee.

I coldbrewed the sample from my easter tea trail and it is lovely.

Hopefully it will wake me the heck up!

drank Mom's Apple Pie by DAVIDsTEA

This is another tea that got stuck in the fridge for three days while I battled food poisoning, and it survived as well! It’s reminding me why I fell in love with this tea in the first place. It’s warm and apple-y and for me, it’s more like an apple pasty instead of a pie. Small difference, I know, but a pasty is fried and it had that flaky, buttery richness in it. Even cold, this is a warm delight. This tea is three years old and hence in my sipdown pile, but I am sad to have it there.

This sat in the fridge, brewing, for three days while I recovered from food poisoning, and I’m happy to say it is none the worse for the abuse! It’s light and fruity and refreshing, reminding me that I greatly enjoy bamboo teas. Since our condo is a never-ending heat sink, anything that cools me off like this has is a major positive.

It sounds like the name of this tea is quite appropriate!

I’ve had food poisoning for the last day or so (again. Of course, again. Jeebus), so I haven’t had the energy to deal with the teas I have coldbrewing in my fridge. But when we were on our way to Mississauga to put in an appearance at a family member’s birthday party, we stopped off at a 7-11 and I picked up two of these. I LOVE THESE and every time I see them, I pick up a few. So good. It doesn’t have that sour, artificial tea flavor and I’m telling you, I had one before bed last night and I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I wonder if I could replicate it at home…

It seems like you’ve been having a lot of food/gastro issues lately. I hope you get better.

Daddyselephant

Gastro issues are my life, unfortunately. For instance, I have lactose issues, but earlier this week while eating tofu, I discovered that soy does my body no favors either. Meh, life goes on and so do I :)

The second day in a row having this tea and I’m willing to confirm that it is literally making me ill. Blegh. The only other thing I’ve had today was rice and I don’t think it is the cause of my nausea.

Sadness. But it’s a sipdown (319/301), so YAY

TeaLady441

Nooooo! That’s not right! Scott’s supposed to be annoying yet endearing. :|
Sorry it was a total fail for you.

Daddyselephant

At least I got a cool tin out of it!!

TeaLady441

Yeah, that’s pretty sweet! Have you figured out what you’re going to do with all your tins? I have no idea with mine… (I can’t remember if I’ve asked you already – sorry)

Coldbrew Sipdown (320/302)

Wallace is better than Scott, but we knew that. I still really, really don’t understand the combination of passionfruit and chocolate chip. It’s kinda stomach-turning, but it’s still way better than Scott’s bitterness.

CHAroma

Ewww, yeah that sounds like a bad combo.

Yeah, no, this is just as bitter coldbrewed as it was hot. This will be a sipdown tomorrow and I’m happy to see it go. I get some caramel and some peach, but overall it’s just a bitter mess.

Formerly aisling of tea, now you can call me ele .

“You can forgive a murder, but never a mistake while preparing tea.” Chinese proverb

Labels? Here you go: Femme, Wife, Lesbian, Homemaker, Happy. Don’t forget tea fanatic!

New label as of May, 2015: Diabetic. I’m using tea to satisfy my sweet tooth cravings and keep me hydrated without hurting my system or messing with my blood sugar.

Ah, tea. My love for you is ever changing. At my last update, I was all about the rooibos and now I hardly drink it. I only occasionally had an oolong and now I have one just about every day. I’ve learned the art of resteeping and coldbrewing and kombucha. I have a lovely little tea pet named…well, I haven’t decided on a name for him yet. I also have five! live pets, a tabby cat named Rosabella Francis (Bella for short), a ginger cat named Orange Julius Pekoe (Pekoe), a white and grey cat named Earl Jean Grey (Earlie), a tuxedo cat (and the only boy in the house) Prince Erik Darien Darjeeling (JiJi) and a red foot tortoise named Da Hong Pao (Pao). So if you see me referring to my girls, I don’t have kids, just animals.

As for tea, I love oolongs, herbals, and black tea. Since I am no longer working, I no longer feel the constant need for a mate energy boost, though I do still reach for it from time to time. I also drink less matcha, though I do throw a spoonful or two in when I’m making smoothies. Most of my tea I drink coldbrewed, and since I discovered coldbrewed rooibos was giving me headaches, I’m drinking less and less of it. Straight pu-erh is not a thing I enjoy, but there are a few flavored blends I like. Greens are still too finicky for me to bother with hot, but they make great cold brews.

I am by no means a tea purist. I greatly enjoy flavored teas and I put stevia in all of my teas. It’s just how I do.

I think I’m going to name my tea pet Mr. Turtle. Even though he’s a tortoise.
