This tea is in the sipdown tins pile and with good reason. It’s okay, fairly good, actually, but it’s not something I ever reach for…

…okay, now that I’ve given it a shake and the sugar has mixed into this coldbrew, my opinion is changing. The strawberry is coming forward and while I’d call this a strawberries and cream more than shortcake, it’s still yummy and deserving of the 94 rating.

Staying in the sipdowns, though.

One day more….

Still yummy, but I’m getting bored. I need to rotate my sipdowns more, maybe I’ll have my wife finish off the last mason jar-full tomorrow, since I’ve already got it going in the fridge.

drank Birthday Cake by DAVIDsTEA

Having a grumpy evening so I’m trying to cheer myself up with a tried and true favorite.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the greatest cup. Good, but not the cup of liquid frosting I was looking for.

Grump.

VariaTEA

Oh no. I hope things start to look up soon. Also, if you haven’t tried it yet, you should take a page out of Roswell Strange’s book and try this cold brewed.

Daddyselephant

The first time I had Birthday Cake, back when it first came out, it was iced and so, so good.

And things got a lot better when my wifey got home. She makes everything better.

Love this tea. Love, love, love this tea. Damn you, Adagio, for your insane shipping prices. Ah well, there are other teas for me to love.

I ran out of cold brewed teas and didn’t quite know what to do with myself. So I sorted the Adagio samplers into “drink hot” and “drink cold” and had to have another cup of this. I have enough for two more cups and then I will be crying forever.

It’s still delicious blackberry pie in a cup and I love it.

Roswell Strange

I watched the movie tonight with a friend! It was her first time seeing it, and she loved it :)

Daddyselephant

That’s because it’s the best movie ever. I’m so sad about Honest Ed’s closing and this movie/graphic novel series is part of the reason why.

Today I had a Moment and reorganized our tins, picking out 10 for sipdowns/giving away so almost all of the tins fit in the drawers of our tea cabinet. It looks so much better.

Anyhoo, yis. Eric is a friend of mine, but he needs t’ go. So I have him cold steeping for tomorrow and then there’s just enough for one more cold brew. And then I’m going to work on The Mad Hatter’s Blend.

Color me surprised, however. I sent a timolino of this to work with my wife and she really likes it! And as a general rule, she doesn’t like iced teas that actually involve, well, tea. So yay for trying new things and liking them!!

drank Peach by Adagio Teas

Coldbrew sipdown (323/305)

This is a decent tea. it’s not great, it’s not awful, it’s not a must have, but it’s not something I mind drinking, either. It’s a peachy black, but with nothing special about it. It’s just…there. If you’re in the States, it’s fairly good for a peachy black, but here in Canada there are other teas I have better access to than this one.

Coldbrew heaven and I earned it after the honey ginger disaster. I love this tea cold. It’s creamy and sweet and oolongy and just plain wonderful.

Once this brewed up, this smelled like Honeybee from Davids, but taste…no. Ugh no. It tastes like honeyed black licorice. It was a coldbrew I will not be repeating and the wifey has a bunch of swap packages going out, so hopefully this can be dropped into one of those.

This tea is three years old, and while I can see what it once was, it is no longer the tea I loved. I avoided this one and I don’t know why. Well, I know I don’t like Adagio’s black base, so that likely had a lot to do with it. Still it is lovely for what it is and doesn’t deserve to lose any of the rating because I let it go stale. Creamy berries, I’m sorry I failed you.

VariaTEA

How can you avoid Eric Northman?! :P

Daddyselephant

I knoooow right? He’s so pretty….

VariaTEA

He really is gorgeous :). Plus, he is like a billion feet tall, I imagine it would be hard to evade him. haha

Daddyselephant

My sister in law saw him at TIFF. We no longer speak to her XD

VariaTEA

OMG I would die. It would be a serious problem :P

drank Guava Cadabra by DAVIDsTEA

Last of the giant jug I made for the weekend and it is so yummy. It’s really hitting the spot today after I woke up from a five hour nap. Arg, self, get it together and stop sleeping so much!

Light, juicy, and refreshing. Rethinking my decision to put it in the sipdown pile.

Formerly aisling of tea, now you can call me ele .

“You can forgive a murder, but never a mistake while preparing tea.” Chinese proverb

Labels? Here you go: Femme, Wife, Lesbian, Homemaker, Happy. Don’t forget tea fanatic!

New label as of May, 2015: Diabetic. I’m using tea to satisfy my sweet tooth cravings and keep me hydrated without hurting my system or messing with my blood sugar.

Ah, tea. My love for you is ever changing. At my last update, I was all about the rooibos and now I hardly drink it. I only occasionally had an oolong and now I have one just about every day. I’ve learned the art of resteeping and coldbrewing and kombucha. I have a lovely little tea pet named…well, I haven’t decided on a name for him yet. I also have five! live pets, a tabby cat named Rosabella Francis (Bella for short), a ginger cat named Orange Julius Pekoe (Pekoe), a white and grey cat named Earl Jean Grey (Earlie), a tuxedo cat (and the only boy in the house) Prince Erik Darien Darjeeling (JiJi) and a red foot tortoise named Da Hong Pao (Pao). So if you see me referring to my girls, I don’t have kids, just animals.

As for tea, I love oolongs, herbals, and black tea. Since I am no longer working, I no longer feel the constant need for a mate energy boost, though I do still reach for it from time to time. I also drink less matcha, though I do throw a spoonful or two in when I’m making smoothies. Most of my tea I drink coldbrewed, and since I discovered coldbrewed rooibos was giving me headaches, I’m drinking less and less of it. Straight pu-erh is not a thing I enjoy, but there are a few flavored blends I like. Greens are still too finicky for me to bother with hot, but they make great cold brews.

I am by no means a tea purist. I greatly enjoy flavored teas and I put stevia in all of my teas. It’s just how I do.

I think I’m going to name my tea pet Mr. Turtle. Even though he’s a tortoise.
