I have A LOT of samples from Adagio. When I first started avoiding such high caffeine levels, I ordered their decaf, rooibos, and herbal sampler packs. I have, like, 16 little tins, plus a large tin of the jasmine rooibos (the first nocaf one I liked). Now that I’m letting myself have a little regular tea every day, I’m not going through them like I had been, and I am realizing that I will still have a bunch of these tins after I am back in the caffeine way.

To remedy this, I’m fixing pots at a time, which is using up these little tins with a quickness, and is also getting me back in the habit of continual tea consumption. Yay. :) So I have a whole pot of this. I’m sweetening with agave, and it’s like candy in a cup. Earl Grey candy, that is. :)

I’m doing the same thing right now to try and get through my Adagio samplers. There are SO MANY.

Haha check out my cupboard- I don’t even think I have them all listed!:)

Haha if sixteen is a lot, then I don’t know what you consider my cupboard. I’m trying to finish them off as well. I’m doing a better job knocking my Harney samplers though. Jasmine rooibos o.O, for some reason it doesn’t sound like jasmine + rooibos would mix together well.

I’d totally nom on some earl grey candy. Excellent fix to the sample problem. I might have to start doing that.

LENA

yep, this sounds like a good idea. I need to clear some space too.

Haha, glad to hear I’m not alone!!!

@Ricky, I’d prefer green jasmine, but when avoiding caffeine and really missing the green one, this does in a pinch. The jasmine is pretty strong, so the rooibos is in the background.

I’ve been into tea, at some level, since college with a first tin of loose tea brought back by my parents from Oxford. My love of tea increased with a visit to Boston and a chance cup at Tealuxe. Since then I’ve only gotten more interested in tea and have developed more of an appreciation for it.

tea rating guide
(updated 12/2010)

100: a perfect cuppa. these are the teas I’ll keep in my cupboard and tend to be one per type of tea.

90-99: will definitely get more of this tea

80-89: likely to get more and perhaps it will become a favorite with time

70-79: very good, depending on my mood or the season

60-69: wouldn’t actively try to get this tea, but also wouldn’t avoid it in a tea shop or restaurant

50-59: run-of-the-mill tea for me

40-49: decent, would hit the spot in some moods, but probably wouldn’t purchase it for my cupboard

30-39: okay, will try again, maybe

20-29: meh. I’d try this tea again if no other were available

10-19: drinkable, but a forced cup

0-9: didn’t even finish the cup
