127 Tasting Notes
Herbal Traveling Tea Box
I think I tried every single DAVIDsTEA from this box. I’ve never had anything from the company until now and I think it’s probably lucky for my wallet that they don’t have any stores near me.
I kept trying to place what this one tasted like to me. Tart, sweet, sour… and then it hit me. It definitely tastes like Airhead candies and it kind of smells the way jello does when it’s still hot and liquidy.
I do taste the apple most of all but then melon. I don’t really taste the hibiscus at all… its probably responsible for the tartness though.
So what are everyone’s favorites from DAVIDsTEA?

mmmmm…. this tastes like a raspberry honey stick from the county fair. I really love how everything plays off on another to make such a distinct flavor combination. Definitely a favorite so far from this box. Good thing I have a lot of teas to add… because I think this is a keeper for me.
As a side note, my fiancé promptly stole this from me before I could finish the cup and drank it…. without any sweetener which is very abnormal for him.

Back to Herbal Tea-a-thon! My second this afternoon is Fruit Sangria. It reminds me of the smell when you open a new pack of starburst. And the taste is kind of tart, kind of sweet. Kind of a sour apple taste with a hint of sweet strawberry. There’s citrus mingled in there somewhere too. It’s definitely a nice tea and I bet it’s pretty refreshing as a cold brew, but not one I just have to have.

I almost didn’t try this one because it was SO spicy smelling, but hey traveling tea boxes are about trying new things, right? It was pretty good actually. I added a bit of sweetener and vanilla almond milk and it was smooth and less spicy than it smelled. Definitely a hint of cocoa that probably would have been stronger if I hadn’t used vanilla almond milk. But definitely better than I was expecting.

Smells like a blueberry muffin! I have found that I have a liking for green rooibos, especially over red rooibos. This was a very nice smooth green rooibos with a blueberry tang and a little sweetness. Definitely enjoying this one! Such a clean blueberry finish. mmmmm…. I bet this would make a fantastic iced tea. Rats… now I think I might have to put it on my wish list just to try it iced!
If you can’t tell I’m having a herbal tea marathon tonight! Fiance is sound asleep, nightshift weeks are hell, and I am loving sipping different herbals and watching TLC’s Friday Bride Day. Such a nice relaxing Friday night.

This smells like a grape cherry iced that I always got as a child from the random icee man who came through the neighborhood. Something that brings back that kind of nostalgia I just had to try even if the first ingredient was hibiscus. And I think we know how I feel about the hibby.
Surprisingly… I liked this. It is not super tart like I was expecting. I definitely taste the cinnamon off the top and it reminds me of fruit punch. So in this instance my smell and try worked out for me.

This one smelled pretty good, so I was tempted into trying it even though I have not really ever met a honeybush I liked. Well… that trend continues. BLECH. I drank half of this and then tried to pawn it off on my fiance… he took one drink told me it tasted like spearmint (???) and handed it back. I personally thought it tasted like sticks… which is what I think honeybush tastes like, and it had a coconut finish. Definitely will be leaving future honeybush teas alone.
Also received this in my Try the World Paris box… it’s a decent black, but I’ve definitely had better.
Hey, would you recommend that Try the World subscription? I was just looking into it, sounds interesting. Especially starting with Paris. Were you happy with the box?
I definitely liked the Paris box and from what I’ve seen the Japan box it pretty cool too, I should get that one a the end of this month. It’s a bit pricey in my opinion, but that products are really cool and you only pay every other month since it doesn’t ship monthly. I would definitely make sure you get your hands on one of their 50% your first box coupon code before you commit to ordering. The one I used has since expired, but the coupon codes are definitely a really good deal and a great way to try the first box.
