Herbal Traveling Tea Box
So I had a very intense sweat until you feel like you just had a shower workout today. It felt great, but boy did I ever need an Epsom salt bath after that. I plucked this one from the pile of herbals from the box that I definitely want to try befor sending it on its way. I sipped it in the tub with a book and it was heavenly. Just exactly what I wanted tonight. Comforting, citrusy a tiny bit floral. I didn’t get any mint at all.
That two davidsteas out of two that I already really like. I foresee my money leaving me very soon in the form of a davidstea order.
Another lovely sample I received from Marzipan
The concept of this one was really intriguing to me and I am finding out what I do and don’t like in Genmaicha through trying samples of different ones. This was not a favorite of mine. It was good, don’t get me wrong, but definitely not something I would stock. It is a very fragrant tea. All sweetness and artificial strawberry. It does genuinely smell and taste like a strawberry marshmallow treat you might get at the store.
The first few sips I tasted mostly just the Genmaicha roasted flavor, but as I kept drinking I could taste the strawberry and hint of sweetness in the finish of it. As it cooled it get distinctly more strawberry in flavor.
Preparation
So I didn’t waste any time… I just got the Herbal Traveling Tea Box today, about an hour ago… and I’m already drinking one of the teas. So convenient that its a box full of herbals!
I’ve really wanted to try this one for a long time and I had no idea what I exactly to expect from it. It is so delicious! Like a cinnamon bun. I just want to sit on the couch with my nose stuck in this cup smelling the delicious cinnabon smell and sipping. Now I’m gonna have to buy some of this… So first tea tried from the swap box? SUCCESS!
Well this smells heavenly. Thanks again to Marzipan for sending this one to me!
Definitely a nice round black tea, whatever the base is on this one, I am lovin’ it. I don’t get a ton of raspberry flavor, I mostly just smell it. It is there for sure, just kind of subtle. I get most of the raspberry taste in the aftertaste. Kind of like a I just ate a nice piece of raspberry dark chocolate, which is totally appropriate! Yummy!
I haven’t been drinking near as much tea lately, but considering the air is FINALLY back on at work… that should change! I bought a few bagged teas to work today since my tea strainer I use at work is at home in need of a wash.
Preparation
I stayed up way too late last night even though I knew I had to be up, like always, at 6am. Sometimes a book is just too good to put down. That’s how I feel about Run by Ann Patchett… and I’m only on Chapter 4.
Anyways! Marzipan was kind enough to send me a few teas off my wishlist, thank you so much! This was one of them and I was really excited to give it a try this morning. I was not disappointed. This is delicious. I really in truly tastes like a blueberry cheese danish. The delightful aftertaste left on my tongue seriously made me wonder if in fact I had just eaten a blueberry cream cheese danish!
Loved the tanginess of the blueberry and the light vanilla-y doughy pastry flavor and how is all just worked with the base black tea. I seriously don’t understand how companies are able to make a liquid taste so much like a tangible solid thing like a pastry. Mind blown in the best kind of way!
Preparation
I got this in the Paris Try the World box with a few other teas from this company. I had to do some steepster research to find out what was what and what to steep things ate because apparently the 4 years of french I had have completely left my brain.
So the dry leaves of this smell a lot like Butiki’s Creamy Eggnog. It tastes similar too, except a little toned down. I get the buttery and slight vanilla, but I was getting something very vegetal and unidentifiable from the green tea base. Then I read LiberTEAS’s review where she said it has a hint of lima bean. LIGHT BULB! yes… so very much lima bean. It’s so weird.
Preparation
I got this as a sample with my Whispering Pines order.
This is a very smooth tea. The first sip of it I seriously felt like I was breathing in ocean air. I wasn’t… i was standing in the breakroom at my office, but it definitely has a very present oceanic taste and scent at first. It mellows out as you drink it though, and I thought this was a very pleasent cup of tea.
