513 Tasting Notes
It was such a chilly day today that this was the perfect cup to brew. I love the caramel notes and the malty depth to the base tea used in this blend. It needs a bit of sweetener to really bring out the flavour, but, when brewed right, it is such a decadent dessert tea! This is one of my favourite teas to drink, hands down!
I cold brewed a pitcher of this and was pleasantly surprised. It was a nice, light, tart cherry. It definitely reminded me of a cherry snow cone or popsicle. I think it is going to to be really refreshing on super hot days, but it is not a tea I am absolutely in love with and have to have available all the time. I am glad I have some to play with, but I don’t know that is needs to have a permanent home in my cupboard.
I am really not feeling this tea. I brought some home and tried a different brewing method (low temperature, short steep) which has worked for me before. This tea is just a no go though, all I ever get is a slight rooibos taste and a lot of sugar water. It is sweet, but it really does not scream cotton candy to me. I will have to leave this tea to those who have had more success as with it than I have!
I have only tried this tea hot, but it really tastes like a jolly rancher to me. I don’t know that this is a bad thing, it is just unexpected. I like the idea of a bit of a bite from some balsamic vinegar, but this is not what I had imagined that would taste like. I have a bit of this to play around with, so far it is… Interesting?
I think this tea is fantastic!! I adore the buttery taste and it really does remind me of sweet popcorn. I prefer a shorter steep time, which prevents the apple from showing up too much in the flavour, but either way it is super amazing! I can’t really see this cold, but I could easily imagine myself tucking into to it on cold evenings! I had it unsweetened and it worked, but I think it is going to be amazing with a bit of sugar!
I picked some of this up to try and I have to admit I was not in love. It is sweet, but not really anything else. I guess if one argues that cotton candy is also at the heart of things really just a sweet taste, it is accurate, but it is not something I need to have in my life.
I made the world’s hardest deal with myself. No tea reviews until I had found a job for next year, given that I didn’t need the distraction while I was supposed to be working on applications. A month later and I am back!!
I have so much tea to catch up on!! I am finishing my last real batch of this tea until we move and unpack. As always, it is amazing. I love the blackberry leaves along with the sweet passion fruit notes.
I had really hoped this tea might reappear this year, but that does not seem to be in the cards. For now, I will continue to hoard the bit of this I have left and hope that one day it might reappear.I drank a cup of this today while we packed and sorted the tea cupboard. Given that a.) I bet away my tea buying privileges for a month and b.) we packed all but the essential teas, the samples we had, and the ones we don’t care too much for I might be facing a pretty limited six weeks of tea drinking!! Here’s hoping we find a house quickly and I can unpack my teas again! :P
As always, this is wonderful. Orangey but with a nice malty base tea that really works to make a mature tea taste. It is consistently one of my favourite orange teas and today was no different!
I love this tea but it certainly tests my patience when drinking it. I find that initially, when the tea is piping hot, I get a real over abundance of grassy notes from the white base. However, as the tea cools, more of the cherry starts to show up and the tea becomes a lovely fruity, yet floral tea. I think this is a delicate tea which can be really great, but is also super fussy with steep time and optimal drinking temperature.
Love, love, love this tea! It always was a hit with me and my adoration for it has only grown over time. Since it is freezing here again (which I am actually embracing, soon enough I will be whining about the heat down south) it was time to pull out a hot tea. The anise and chocolate paired with a nice, light base tea, really pulled me through my evening visit like nobody’s business. I really need to reach for this tea much more often!
It was crazy hot here today – I am NOT complaining – after that insane winter a little was nice. Hope you get to enjoy some soon. :))
