600 Tasting Notes

I find myself always returning to The London Cuppa, if not having green tea. It is quite a contrast because it has none of that leafy astringent taste as offered by some green teas.

This is robust, smoky in flavor, the nose perks noting a different texture, richness even in the cup making for fitness in the daily activities abound or do I mean needing to get done.

Yes, The London Cuppa is my cup of contrast when deviating from those of leafy, medicinal notes. A bit harsh in the phrasing? Maybe.

This is my other back up cup of tea when not drinking Green tea. I like the robustness contrast the London Cuppa offers. I still have no Earl Grey or English Breakfast or Irish Teas so this is a good replacement for them.

As much as I drink, I find the box is still full of round tea bags. Thank you British Delights for carrying this tea.

Drinking this Green tea all day is my way of slowing down time around me. I am slow in nature anyway so a cup of tea is just another excuse.

This is not gourmet blend, it is astringent in flavor with first cup brew/steep time of about 3 -4 minutes. Leaving the bag longer dilutes the astringency to almost none at all. I mean it is just flavored water mildly in color, to put it blatantly.

There is nothing to not like about this green tea since it is acquired.

Another obtained China Cha Dao sampler that is most enjoyable. This is a good morning cup of tea which is very mild and fresh in aromatic flavoring. I don’t find this to be heavy at all.

The liquor is lightly greenish in color, almost yellow like and it is very smooth in texture; and sweet not vegetal. I drink it all day long and find it most enjoyable.

I am grateful for a simpler cup of loose leaf tea. It is gentle on the palette, not demanding much investigation.

I am back to drinking this store brand Green tea daily which had been absent from my cupboard.

This is lightly, mild green tea; good for when needing a break from the Gourmet brand of teas which can be a bit rough on one’s palette and throat.

I call this store brand my healing cup. Sipping it slowly and no judgment of the notes. I just want to not remember what I am drinking other than for the sake of drinking tea.

This is one of those high end tea drink as opposed to store brand tea. It is lighter in roasted flavoring; and honey like in taste leaving for a very smooth, almost velvety note on the palette.

The leaves are roasted, dark, crunchy and curled and when dispensed amidst the water in the cup the leaves unfolds to fullness; and what was dark in coloring of the leaves is a mild green; and yes the leaves are edible as well. Maintaining that honey flavoring throughout.

Texture is described as smooth and mellow and this conjures the honey sweetness in the cup making for a slight flora aroma and not vegetal.

In continuing with my chai mood of sort, I decided to try this Mocha chai sampler.

It is Ceylon tea containing chocolate bits, this makes the taste bitter regardless of how much sugar is added. It is that dark chocolate bitterness for an after taste to one’s palette.

I gave in the other morning and opted for a cup of this top grade Indian tea. As I opened the tin I was pleasantly surprised with the aromas, mostly the lemon-grass in the scent.

Prevailing notes: lemon grass, ginger, cinnamon, coriander and black pepper. This I came at after tasting the grinds left at bottom of the cup. The pepper does add quite a kick to the chai, I enjoyed this with sugar, no cream or soy, next time perhaps.

It is definitely a full bodied spice tea…true Hindi tea. I enjoyed drinking this throughout the day and found it remaining as steady when first sipped. And if there was caffeine there was no effect from the fullness in the body.

This sampler from the TCTC shop fits nicely as an after dinner dessert drink or when one is need of something sweet and chocolatey.

The headiness in the chocolate is through and through while the cinnamon lingers sweetly on. It is not a cup of chocolate drink but close enough for a rooibos mixture.

Always seeming to return to this London Cuppa when wanting something for breakfast but not English or Irish Breakfast cup of tea. I am out of those.

The notes in the cuppa erases the gaps. It is smoky in flavor and a full bodied robust brew helping me with my daily activities which at times are inactive and the freshness in the cup reminds me to get moving, get it done even.

This TCTC Spice tea is a vibrant cup of tea adding pleasant notes to the senses. The aromas depicted in the cup are: clove, cinnamon, ginger and orange peels. The heady scent in the cinnamon and ginger makes it sweeter in the tasting of this tea.

The orange peels makes it fresh and zesty. There is a licorice like fragrance rising from the cup after brewing. The smells in the spices do awaken all of the senses, making it a morning tea or mid-day to refresh and revitalize.

This tea sampler is definitely a cup of energy with spicy notes throughout. A bit too spicy for my taste but nice just the same.

I like to drink tea less so than when I was aptly reviewing teas. I find that I like less and less of things as I age. I am a somber spirit who prays daily to not be at all. Thank you Steepster for all that you do to enrich tea drinkers.
