I got this as a 10g sample.

For the tea soup, at first, I didn’t like the beginning flavor of smoky tobacco. And there was a slight sourness that was not disturbing and made mouth-watering. However, the smoky tobacco and sourness faded very quickly (maybe like its name). Then, sweetness strongly appeared and lingered for a long time.

Dry leaves had a strongly and pleasing sweet/green aroma. Sorry that I could not specifically describe; sometimes I felt that it smelled like a sugary candy or some sweet-ripe fruit. I brewed the tea at a bit lower temperature (90 C) and used more amount of leaves (10 g/100 ml). The color of the liquor was yellow. The mouth-feel was very smooth, pleasant and mouthwatering. It’s not a “bitterness turn to sweetness” tea but like drinking a soft white one. The flavor contained a slight honey sweetness, and no bitterness, smokiness and astringency. The slight sweetness and particularly sweet aroma coating on my palate, mineral-spiciness on my tongue lasted more than half an hour. After 10 steeps, there was no sweetness but the tea soup, with a bit more bitterness and astringency, still was aromatic and drinkable.

Its flavour seems lighter than some Yiwu cakes from other vendors at the same age. A dry fruit/honey aroma, sweetness and tartness are not so intense; however, they are gentle, delicate, and linger in my throat/tounge for an hour. Like the previous review, I can also feel a nice white wild flower at the begining time of the sip. The tea soup has almost no bitterness, astringency and smoky tobacco smell, impressingly, even with extended brewing time. In addition, most of raw pu-erh tea taste become worse if we (unintentionally) drink it at room temperature but Xi Kong remains more delicious for me. This tea is pleasing and I like it very much.

From a first try this tea seemed too much bitter, astringent and smoky/tobacco for me. After I shorten the brewing time, those flavors bacame more pleasing and balanced . The liquor came in a light brown color with a thick body. Its spicy, sweet honey aftertaste and light floral aroma lasted well in my throat for a long time.
