103 Tasting Notes
I really wanted to like this tea, since today is all about migraines, disappointment, depression, rain, and Monday… and I got caramel, yay! The caramel and hazelnut overpowers the chocolate and vanilla that I am less fond of, and it’s sweet without being too sweet. So I’m a fan of this tea, thanks, Cavocorax, for sharing! I’m still only halfway through S1, but I get the antlers reference at least.
How steadfast and useful you are, my go-to hangover tea!
Happy Friday, everyone. I went out last night on a work outing w/ beers, and an all female Guns n Roses cover band, and Vietnamese food carts. Fell asleep before 10pm watching condensed baseball games on MLB.com. Woke up and cuddled my cat for awhile before eating some cold pizza and running out the door. Living the dream.
Aww, this is the last of the Amande Amaretti. Guess we’ll have to go back to France…
Actually, I’m planning a trip to Montreal… goes to look at tea shops in Montreal… Yup, France it is. Though I’m sure I could bring back some Chinese tea and Gauloises.
I have extreme Spring fever today. I’m just staring at the computer screen but nothing’s getting through. That Hardywood beer right after work is going to taste AMAZING.

The quick google search I did agrees :) Some place called Second Cup seems to be ubiquitous, and there’s David’s Tea, and fancy places for high tea, but I’m probably going alone and I’ve made the mistake of having to eat high tea for 2 by myself before – soooo many macaroons and tiny things add up! I’m not going until September, so I’ll have lots of ideas by then so I’ll get back to you :)
second cup is just a coffee shop – maybe a little classier than uh dunkin’s donuts without the donuts… a step down from starbucks sort of?

I’ve got about 2 hours left in a Clash of Kings and then, THEN!, I can spend the next month reading fic again. Or two months! Or more!
I just went a few months without reading any ‘real’ books so I have tried to focus on just one book, but that’s silly.
I’m clearing fic from other fandoms off my kindle, so reading some Bilbo/Thorin, Cecil/Carlos, and even Dean/Castiel, going way back (but not waaaaaaay back – though I’m sure I have a Batman/Robin on there somewhere). I figure Night Vale tea is appropriate, and I am 3 episodes behind, so.

Sweet! I was excited when I heard the latest episode was going to mention the cat, and also was called “Cookies” – Who doesn’t love cats and cookies?!??
Really nice lapsang. My stomach says it’s strong, but there’s a nice mellower aftertaste, but yeah still smoky. I think I encouraged Shmiracles to get this one because of the name, and because it’s Harney, and because I know she likes lapsang too. I like all novel Russian things, and I have a few Kusmi tea collections in my Amazon wish list that are kind of a dream buy. Someday!
Hello, morning! This tea is strong and good for a Monday. I’m using my new IKEA thermos/mug, which is nice, but too narrow to use with my tea basket.
None of this really matters. In my head, I’m dancing on Miami Beach with Shmiracles, drunk on rum, ceviche & sea air.
Aww, this is the last of the Rose Scented I have. Today is pretty awful and boring and annoying, but tea, you are awesome and I will miss you.
That reminds me, I saw The Grand Budapest Hotel with Shmiracles last weekend, and it was a great movie I can’t wait to see again. But we decided there was one flaw, in that there was not nearly enough tea.
Oh, this tea is super lovely. I took a sip this morning and had forgotten what it was going to be, since I barely remember driving here to work today. But I’ve had goat cheese & marmalade toast and now French breakfast tea, so I should be having a better morning than I’m having. I love malty, caramel, strong black tea, but this one is really refined and not fake tasting at all. Beautiful. Thank you to Shmiracles for letting me sample her box o’ samples! And thank you, Steepsterites, for sharing your teas. If I can make it to lunch, I’ll get to read more of the pointless coffee shop AU I started this week.

I have 340 things on my Kindle, and now, post-lunch break, I have, oooh, 338. It’s been stagnant for awhile, but now that I’m broke again until payday, it’s time for some quality Kindle time. I just have to avoid those 80-100K word AU TeWo fics… now that the season is over and all… until June.
Hmm, it’s now firmly Springtime. I forget every year how things start getting crazy right about now… with May and June being the absolute worst/best.
I read the first sentence and thought on no, she wanted to like it but she’s gonna say she hates it! /0\ But you don’t and that’s cool. Glad you got some chocolate/vanilla from it, AND I’m happy you’re enjoying the show so far. We just finished filming the last episode of S2 so now I’m just waiting to see if NBC is renewing it or not.

At least it’s halfway over! Today I mean, not S2 because I have to catch up – before I get spoiled by a fic description or Tumblr in general. Sorry for the fakeout – I’m glad I liked this one too, but if I had read the description I would have known since I like caramel :) I also dropped the bag on the floor (because today sucks) but only lost a teeny tiny bit and still have lots left (WHEW!). I think I would have just gone back to bed at that point haha.
All I have to say is… swiggity swag the nightmare stag. (Oh, tumblr.)

I wish I had fic recs for you for later, but I have NOTHING. I tried reading a few Hannibal/Sherlock crossovers, but they felt false. And most of the other fics I read are Hannigram and I haven’t read any that were good enough to make me really feel that ‘ship. It’s not difficult to convince me that Hannibal might want Will; it’s harder to convince me that Will is ready to go cannibal just to get with Hannibal. I need something written well enough to make me accept that. :|
Course I haven’t looked in months! Maybe fic based on the newer season will be better written?

Oh, I know what that’s like – some of the best shows don’t have good fics. I don’t ship anyone on the show yet, and I’m not sure I ever will, but while your OTP of course has the best fics ever, it’s typically torture to try to read a pairing you’re not into. Though I giggled a little when you said Hannigram, because I didn’t know the portmanteau :) Right now, I’m trying to remember if I’ve ever read a cannibal fic, and I wanna say yeah maybe? Maybe a hell!Dean fic, back when I read Destiel.
