8 Tasting Notes
This tea has a refreshing citrus smell when you open the tin – like that mist of fragrance as you peel a fresh tangerine. When steeped for three minutes, I found this tea to have a delicate flavor, with no acidity. The citrus flavor is not as pronounced as the fragrance, but still an enjoyable cup of tea.
This tea was a little hard to measure because of the larger size leaves and this may have affected my brew. That said, I did enjoy this tea and did not find it to be overly vegetal – a trait I’m finding hard to adjust to. It was very smooth with no bitterness and a light pleasant fragrance.
I also discovered this tea at PF Changs restaurant. Oolong is a newer taste experience for me. I found that I really liked this particular tea. The larger pyramid bags (makes a whole pot) were quite convenient. The flavor has a hint of smokiness without acidity and a little sweetness. Very pleasant.
This tea was brisk, but quite smooth with the addition of milk. It is a fine morning tea. I gave it a shorter brew time than some blacks and found that some of leaves were broken enough to escape the filter basket. This is an enjoyable Ceylon tea.
Preparation
This is one of my everyday teas. I like to start the day with a pot of robust black tea such as London Cuppa, Yorkshire Gold, or PG Tips. The trick with the PG Tips is a shorter brewing time – I usually give it three minutes – and add milk. To me it’s brisk, yet smooth. I’ll be drinking a lot of this tea, since hubby gave me a case for Christmas.
