1113 Tasting Notes
I’ve been alternating between excited about and scared of this tea, LOL!
It SOUNDED delicious…then the dry leaf smelled kind of weird…then once steeped up it smelled delicious. I’m picky about my cinnamon teas so this was quite a gamble!
But I like it! I can’t really taste the puerh. Maybe it is adding to the earthiness of the coffee aspect of the flavor though. The cinnamon is definitely there but pretty mild. I don’t get the cookie part but I’m drinking this unsweetened and without milk. I have a feeling this is another one that would be really incredible if sweetened. I’m sure it would be fabulous brewed up extra strong with some sugar and cream, like a cinnamon latte :)
Thanks for the sample cookies :D
WOW This is a crazy complex tasting tea. Lovely dry leaf, too. So cute! I want to pet the tiny curly leaves :)
Anyway, vegetal, sweet, fruity, lightly floral and a little bit smokey. Maybe the least boring green tea ever! I’m impressed!
Thanks to Angel and TeaVivre for the sample!
This is a very nice oolong! Super buttery and vegetal, with some nice sweetness and faint floral highlights on top. I always forget how much I like oolongs like this one until I drink one again. Quite good! :)
This tea reminds me of Lupicia’s Cookie but with some nuts!
It is mildy roasty, creamy, and definitely nutty. I’m not getting much chocolate though. I think it might be one of those teas that is begging to be sweetened to pop the flavors out. I’ll try that next time :)
Thanks for the sample Angel and TeaVivre!
So excited to break in to my oolong samples, and this one was first on my list! I think Dan Cong is probably my favorite type of oolong, though I’ve only had a couple of different Dan Congs so far. This one is roasty and sweet, with a smooth sweet potato/honey thing going on. It is nice, but I prefer a more floral type of Dan Cong myself. If you like dark and roasty oolong you will probably dig this one!
Thanks for the sample boychik
This is a good shou. I was very impressed when I saw the price! No off flavors or anything, just basic clean “shou” taste. No other real strong flavor notes I can think of a the moment! :)
OMG! Thank you Cameron B for the sample of this tea…and she tells me it originally came to her from Dexter so thank you both SO MUCH!
WOW, so apparently I LOVE Tahitian vanilla beans in tea. The two from Whispering Pines that include them are my favorites from this company so far and maybe 2 of my favorite teas of all time! The dry leaf is very beautiful here too, dark twisty leaves blended with shiny golden fuzzbuds…mmm. So rich and creamy. The vanilla evokes a marshmallowy sweetness. Super dreamy tea! I love it!!!
Wow this is really good! Thank you cookies for the sample!!!
There is a sweet/savory thing going on here that brings to mind salted caramels. Not quite like anything I’ve ever tasted before! It is rich and malty like a good Yunnan black should be. Very nice, I would definitely drink more of this, and the fact that it is organic is icing on the delicious cake :)
