1113 Tasting Notes
Thank you so much tea ave for the samples for review!
I love jasmine green tea so I was very excited to see this one in my sample pack. I’ve never had a jasmine oolong before! I thought jasmine and green tea were perfect together, but jasmine and creamy butter oolong might be even better. The jasmine lasted through all my steeps (I used a gaiwan) and I was sad when this tea finally faded away. The aroma cup experience with this tea was incredible. With steeps #2 and #3 I got a toffee/burt sugar aroma! Pretty glorious stuff here if sweet buttery sweet green oolong and jasmine appeals to you!
Thank you Tea Ave for the samples! The presentation was top notch. I very much enjoyed the aroma cup experience. It really does help concentrate and focus the aromas so you can fully appreciate the oolong! The rose was definitely not overpowering. This type of high mountain oolong can have some floral overtones anyway so the rose just seemed to fit right in. Very creamy buttery oolong, with a little hint of a vegetal taste. Quite complex and tasty. Really looking forward to trying the other 2 oolong samples I was given, the Jasmine and Magnolia.
This is VERY good! Thanks for the sample Marzipan <3
It has a creamy mouthfeel, and floral vibe which I always appreciate in a sheng, and is a little sweet but with a slight toasty or burnt sugar note I don’t normally get from sheng. If I ever win the lottery I’m going on a TeaUrchin bender…so many fine puerhs!!!
Bought this last fall on our trip to Las Vegas. It was very expensive but fun to actually go somewhere that had a few really nice teas I could buy in person.
Anyway this is a pretty decent DANCONG. I definitely prefer Verdant’s dancong though. This one is more strongly mineral tasting and has a faint sour note sometimes.
Today I am drinking a very tasty shou puerh sample from a friend. It is a MYSTERY puerh because it was from Grandness on Aliexpress…anyone able to read it? :)
Revisiting this one today. I am almost out of it now…
I don’t crave cinnamon teas very often but this is an excellent option. Definitely cinnamon bread and NOT redhot cinnamon. Yums.
