Best thing about Aroma is that you can sit down at the big tea table and taste to your heart’s content! Specializes in oolongs but has a wide variety of other teas as well.
This is my go to tea shop for holiday gifts. I’m drinking a really nice Orchid Oolong as I write this, it’s lightly floral and sweet with no external flavorings. I like the variety of oolongs here, there are mostly good loose leaf teas. I can’t judge for myself if this is a moderately high or very high quality of tea, but I’m very satisfied with what I get here.
The owner of this shop is fun, he makes ‘bad’ tea jokes and is generous with the tastings. Every time I’ve been here he’s thrown in a free sample, usually from his “tea for snobs” shelf.
The King’s tea I had last time was a little on the sweet side, but since you can taste everything before you buy it, there’s no reason to go home unsatisfied.
There is no snobbery here, and it’s a fun place to get good tea.
